NOTES

If you haven't done so alreayd, get your SPG picks in for a chance to win a Penguins wall clock, courtesy of CarrollsCove.com.

Sidney Crosby is pulling in roughly 25 minutes of ice time a game.  Expect to see that again tonight.

Let's see if the Pens can get some shots on net tonight.  And by some I mean more than 15.

More importantly, let's get the win.

John Forslund is about two inches away from a real killer mullet.

Wow – Godard vs Cote was easily one of the best fights I’ve seen in a while.

Get used to hearing about that new show TalkSoup – we’re less than ten minutes in and they’ve already mentioned it about 40 times.

Cannot wait for....

these lines to click. I think Satan is going to do some great things in Pitt this year. and nice SH breakaway by Talbot!!! Think he shot a little too soon though.

The Flyers’ Dman was definitely about to break that thing up. Unfortunately he had no choice but to shoot that fast. But happy to see the PK is at least looking better tonight.

Just remember, the Pens started slow last season too. Just gotta be patient (as hard as that may be). ;-)

Mike Richards

Is it just me or is he a huge bitch? He’s one of those players that only does stuff when the other guy isn’t looking. From butt ending Crosby to the headlock, takedown from behind on Fedo.

well as a pens fan i am a huge proponent of flyer bashing. so its not just you :)

I’m an Atlanta Braves fan and a Washington Redskins fan as well. So I hate pretty much every Philly team (maybe not the Phantoms).

and it sounds as if the fans at the arena agree with you too.

Judging by the past two minutes (which is all I’ve seen of the game) the Pens got the message about taking more shots. I think I’ve seen more shots now that I did in the whole second period last game.

Agreed. They’ve looked pretty good for most of the game. They just can’t seem to find the twine. I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt them.

Who picked Brooks Orpik for the first goal of the game?? 5th goal ever, nice.

by JDMaker1 on Oct 14, 2008 9:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

2-0. That was quick.

by Dayna on Oct 14, 2008 9:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i love orpik. my dad and i call him crazy eyes.

by kelly_fisher on Oct 14, 2008 9:04 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I hope that nickname will catch on.

by Dayna on Oct 14, 2008 9:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

ha

me too. Brooks “crazy eyes” Orpik has a nice ring to it, no?

by kelly_fisher on Oct 14, 2008 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think they should market it.

by Dayna on Oct 14, 2008 9:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

2-2. That was quick too. Ugh.

Cheap tripping call on that play. He got puck first on the dive, that’s just good D.
