Scouting the Enemy: Boston Bruins

Record: 2-1-1
Leading scorer: Marc Savard 5G, 4A, 9 pts
Blogs: The Bruins Report, Boston Blueline, and Bruins Hockey Blog (will blog from the game tonight).
The Bruins are splitting time between Tim Thomas and Manny Fernandez equally this season, so it's hard to say right now who is getting the start in net. If you remember last season then you probably remember the Bruins giving the Pens a bit of trouble. They bring that boring, zone-trap offense with them and it certainly poses as a difficult obstacle to skate by for the up-tempo Pens.
Boston.com has the Bruins' expected lineup for tonight's game, with Tim Thomas marked as the starter. Also a note worth considering - Marc Savard and Michael Ryder have scored at least a point in each game this season.
I'm going to take what's out there as evidence and suggest P.J. Axelsson may pose as a huge obstacle for the Penguins' power play tonight. Then again, that all depends on whether or not he is healthy. Axelsson was a scratch for Saturday night's game against the Senators with "spasms," so even if he returns tonight there is a chance he won't be playing at 100%.
Remember to get your SPG picks in for a chance to win a Penguins wall clock, courtesy of Carroll's Cove. If you're new to the site and want to know how you can win, all the info is right here.

Zdeno Chara vs Godard? THat’s my guess.

Eesh. I dunno. There’s about a six inches and 40 pounds between the two in favor of Chara. I guess if anyone is going to throw down in a somewhat even match, I’d say Gill vs Chara. But Gill isn’t all that much of a fighter, so I dunno…
