3rd Jersey for this year?

Has anyone seen the 3rd jersey for the Pens this year? I have read that it was going to be the winter classic jersey...BUT I did see a picture of Crosby in a powder blue uni, with the current Pen emblem on the front...Just wanted to know because I want to order a winter classic off of Ebay, but if they aren't using the WC this year I will wait.
BTW has anyone bought a pens jersey off of a chinese seller on ebay yet? I am leary of doing so but the price is ridiculous and they look decent, maybe not authentic but they pass the naked eye test online...

I don’t really trust Ebay when it comes to jerseys for any sport. I’m always worried I’ll get one of those ones that looks like it’s taped on or something. I’d recommend RiveryCitySports if you want to make sure you get a genuine one. The only difference is you’re going to pay face value and not an auction bid.

oh and I haven’t seen anything other than the Winter Classic one. If you have a pic of that other one you mentioned, would you mind posting it up to the fanshots? I’d really like to see it.

Ah, the practice jerseys are much lighter and more often than not cheaper. You can probably land that for about $30 or $40 online somewhere.

Haven’t heard about a third jersey, but I’d sure love the Winter Classic to make a return as a third. They were awesome!

eesh. $80 for a practice jersey? I saw them in a store last season for $40 tops. You can probably find them online elsewhere for much cheaper.

I am pretty sure that the 3rd jersey is the Winter Classic one. Last year teams weren’t allowed to wear an alternate jersey because the new RBK edge jerseys were brand new. I haven’t heard when they will wear it.

I don’t have a link. But Dave Molnario answered a similar question in his mailbag today. He doesn’t think they will announce and/or wear the jersey until November.
He is fairly certain it will be almost identical to the Winter Classic Jersey from last year.

I actually just saw it earlier today as part of an NHL store banner. Something like “save 15% off all orders now” and they had the Pens’ practice jersey up.

Q: Are the Penguins planning on releasing a third jersey this year? It would be great to see them in the Winter Classic jerseys again.

MOLINARI: The Penguins are, in fact, scheduled to use a third sweater this season and indications are that it will be similar, if not identical, to the powder-blue one they wore during the outdoors game in Buffalo Jan. 1. It might be a while, perhaps sometime in November, before the team actually goes public with the design, however.
Based on the number of inquiries Q&A readers have made about a third sweater in recent months – and the reaction to the throwback-style sweater they wore in the New Year’s Day game – it figures to be pretty popular with fans when it finally is unveiled and becomes available in stores.
