Pens News: Pascal Dupuis on IR
I have read from various sources (Pittsburgh Trib and Pens site) that Pascal Dupuis has been placed on IR. Now this just means that he will not count against the roster until activated, so no players will need to be sent down to Wilkes-Barre since Janne Pesonen has been called-up. I guess Janne will replace Dupuis instead of Crosby like I thought. Ruslan Fedotenko might not play and Defenseman Mark Eaton will likely be a healthy scratch. I would think Sydor is playing to try and show him off to other teams, but maybe there is something here. Nothing is for sure though with any of these line changes with Michel Terrein as coach. More to come......

Eesh, I wonder how bad that puck hit really is.
In any case, at least that answers our question from earlier today on who would have to get dropped or put on IR. Just sorry to see is Dupuis – that dude has been skating with a vengeance all season.

Yeah, you hate to see a guy like this go down, well really any guy, but he is a hard-working PK guy. He can be reactivated by the next game though since he was injured Oct. 28. So really this just allowed the Pens more time to see what player to move, though I don’t know how serious the injury is.

This is a long break between games. I’m thinking it could either be a good thing – they can regroup after a mostly disappointing road trip (and Crosby/Dupuis/Gill/Talbot can rest up and heal) or they could lose whatever momentum they would have had going after last night’s game.
Let’s hope it’s the first.

If anyone can get himself injured as a healthy scratch, it’s Mark Eaton.
Let's go Pens!

I always think he is gonna break when he gets hit into the boards. I like his game, but he is fragile. Still leaves the question: Who will be the odd man out on D? I guess for now it’s Eaton, though I think Gill is overrated.

Well the Pens got a good deal on Eaton during the offseason. I mean, you can’t deny the fact that despite his fragility he is still a good defenseman. But I think when the Pens offered him $1 mill for two years this offseason it was the best offer he was going to see.
