Former Pen suspended
You remember Jarkko Ruutu, don't you? While he may be skating for the Senators now, it still catches my attention when he makes news.
Over on James Mirtle's From the Rink (you are reading that, aren't you?) he's got a posting on Ruutu getting suspended for two games for allowing his elbow to make contact with someone's face. Can't imagine how that could happen.
EDIT: The link has a video, but I guess I could add it here as well:
The content expressed in fanposts does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the staff here at Pensburgh.com. FanPosts are opinions expressed by fans of various teams throughout the league but may be more Pittsburgh-centric for obvious reasons.

Link doesn’t work bud, but I did see it. I agree, he was definitely on the hunt. A little disappointed too
For as annoying as a guy Ruutu may be he was always fun to watch in Pitt. But as he showed with some hits in Sweden, there’s no love anymore. None sniffle at all.

Sorry about that, I copy and pasted from YouTube. It’s obviously Google’s fault and not a user error on my part.

I know, no worries. You’re much better than that.
It’s pretty obvious though that he just lined him up and went for the head. No way you can deny it either. Cheap shots at its finest.
Although I will admit it would’ve been interesting to see Ruutu go up against Laraque in the Battle of Former Pens.

Yep, definitely a high hit
it warrants the suspension… He should have just kept his elbow down and destroyed him… would have had the same effect and been legal.

If Ruutu would’ve knocked him out or injured him on this one I think we would’ve seen a bigger suspension, heavy fine and weeks of “head hunting” talks on the Net, Coach’s Corner and ESPN.
