Chris Minard & Janne Pesonen sent down

I have read that Chris Minard and Janne Pesonen have been sent back down to the Pens minor league system, Wilkes-Barre Scranton. Minard played in two games posting three shots and three hits. He played solid in the absence of some of the Pens and probally will get a call back up at some point this year.He is the leading scorer on WBS. Pesonen played one game and played a nice first game, was actually more defensive, and played under ten minutes. I don't know if they were sent down because WBS has some games during the Pens long break or if the parent Penguins will be healthy enough come the Oilers game. Who knows.

I guess this may answer our question as to Pascal Dupuis’ status. Maybe whatever his injury is isn’t that bad after all. But you make a good point about the long break in between games. I really can’t stand these constant lateral moves, and I’d imagine it’s no fun for the players either to take planes, cars/buses back and forth between The Show and the minors.

Yeah he seems to be ready for the Oilers game. I thought both played well in the circumstances. I remember last year some guys would get a call up and then sent down, because WBS had a game the next day. Some guys got like four call ups in a week. Last year when Connor James and former Pen Nathan Smith got a call up, James was shopping at the grocery store and heard his name announced on the loudspeaker. They drove up in a car because the Pens needed help for the Islanders game, and Connor James actually scored. Talk about emergency call up! (heard about story on FSN)

haha yeah I remember that one. I don’t think James showed up until the second period and still got that goal towards the end.

Oh yeah, that was great, the Pens were playing two men down in the first period, then both showed up. They still crushed the Isles. Nice memory Frank.
