Sydor to dress tonight in Game 3?

According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Sydor may dress in tonight's Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

I was thinking that Sydor might dress tonight.  But like Frank mentioned in another post, I thought it might be in place of Hal Gill (See Frank's reply to the first comment). The article mentions that Sydor generally plays with Whitney, which would mean he would be taking the place of Letang.  Though, it's possible that he could take the place of Gill if Therrien moved the pairings around.

I'm not sure how I feel about this move, except that something needs to light a fire under these guys.  I'm interested to see if/how Sydor plays tonight.  Any thoughts?

Indeed

I had just mentioned that in the Open Thread Notes (posting at 7:00). I know that I don’t like the idea of Sydor coming fresh off the bench after not playing since March 31. I can’t see how THAT’S going to help matters much. But hopefully he’s running on adrenaline out there in front of the home crowd to really fire up the rest of the team. I think Therrien is realizing now, with the activation of Roberts in Game 2 and Sydor in Game 3, that he’s got a bunch of kids out there running around with their heads chopped off. You have to get the vets on the ice to rally up the troops.

True, but Roberts hardly used the head on his shoulders last game. How many penalty minutes did he have? 40? Geez.

Well staying out of the box has never been his forte. At the least, let’s hope is Roberts plans on taking another 40 penalty minutes he takes some guys into the box or off the ice with him. FYI – I’m not advocating cheap shots.
