Great Pens Article
Great and funny article about Game 3 written by John Starkey of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Here are some quotes:
"Dirty Gary, huh? It's awesome. I love when the crowd goes, "Gaaary!" He's a legend in here. ... You look at him after a goal -- during the celebration -- you look in his eyes, and you're kind of scared, like, 'Oh my God, that guy's intense.' And it's great. -- Maxime Talbot
The "A" on that guy's jersey stands for "angry." - speaking of Gary Roberts

haha I love how Max is overpowered by Roberts’ stare. I did read something the other day that mentioned he’s slightly scared of Gary.
I give credit to Gary. I mean, how many other people can say they go to work everyday pissed off, beat the crap out of people and slam into everyone under the sun and leave for home (mildly) happy? I advise everyone try it and see what happens.
PS – No biggy at all but the writer’s name is Joe Starkey. He’s the beat writer for the Pens and also writes a ton of great articles in The Hockey News – although he is the one who also mentioned subtly that Malone may be out after this season.

Woops about the author, sorry Joe. It’s hard to go back and forth on this little laptop I have at work. They’re about 3 iterations of IE behind, so no tabbed browsing.
RE MALONE: He’ll almost def. be out after the season. He’s had a career year and I don’t think there is a way the Pens can afford to keep him. That is unless he takes a “home team discount” to stay with the Pens, a la Chipper Jones and John Smoltz of the Braves.
RE MAX: Who isn’t somewhat scared of GR? He’s got the stare of a serial killer. He’d be a great closer in baseball.
He’d probably hold the all-time record for hitting batters too.
Over 40 appearances Gary Roberts recorded 40 saves, 120 Ks and a 0.00 ERA. Amazingly he never threw a single pitch.

Yeah, I think he’d only have to 360 pitches or lobs all for strikes. I’m not sure if anyone would want to get in the box, he’d instill the fear of God in me.
He’d could blatantly miss the plate, hit the dugout and all the ump would mutter is, “Ba…” until Gary stares him down and he changes his tone to, “Ba…strike three you’re out!”
Batter: “But he only threw one pitch.”

hahahahahahahahahaha. Sounds about right to me. The Braves had a reliever last year, Tyler Yates, who had a great stare. He was only a servicable pitcher, but what a great stare. He currently plays for the Pirates, FYI.
Yeah I’ve seen him on the roster, but aside from Matt Capps as a reliever I don’t really keep up on the rest of the pitching staff. (minus Duke, Snell and Maholm).
