WWGRD . . . LEAVE!
Roberts will not return to Penguins Tuesday, June 24, 2008 By Dave Molinari, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Rick Curran, who represents Roberts -- a veritable folk hero in his season-plus with the Penguins -- said yesterday that Roberts will continue playing, but not in Pittsburgh.
"He very much enjoyed his time there," Curran said. "But he understands that Ray [Shero, the Penguins' general manager] has a number of items on his agenda that would take priority."
Curran added that Roberts, 42, "most definitely" intends to continue his career and will decide where after reaching unrestricted free agency next Tuesday.
There is more to the article and I recommend reading it, but that's the GR News. Sad to see it.
P.S.: It looks like Malkin is still staying . . . if anyone thinks that's news.

I'm guessing
He’s not real happy he wasn’t playing every game that he was healthy enough to play(in the playoffs).

There’s always that. If there’s one thing Therrien didn’t manage well this season it was his treatment of the veterans. See also: Daryl Sydor, Mark Recchi.

I dunno. You have to think GR, as a veteran, understands what it takes to win a Cup. He may not have agreed with Therrien’s lineup call in the Finals, but you cannot agree with everything the coach does . . . a vet should grasp that.
Besides, it’s still possible, though unlikely, that GR could be a Penguin next year. It didn’t say he was going to turn down any offers from the Penguins flat out.
I read somewhere
that he wants to play for either the Leafs or the Senators… it’s either of those or retirement(or at least that’s the way I took from the article… which I can’t find now)
Go 'Stros!
Well good – they can take Roberts and Sundin and pursue the cup with the geriatric line.
Am I turning on Gary too quickly? Am I risking my life tonight when I (try to) sleep?

Rumor has it Chuck is looking to get a contract worked out with wherever Gary goes. Darius Kasparitis has also shown signs of interest.
