Rangers' prospect Evgeny Grachev emulates Evgeni Malkin
Evgeny Grachev was drafted 75th overall in this year's draft, and he's already touting how he'd like to be like Malkin.
My proposition of a new shoe/skate campaign - "Like Malk, if I could be like Malk."
Drafted Saturday in the third round (No. 75 overall), Grachev, who played for Yaroslavl Lokomotiv-2, a Russian junior team, is physically similar to Malkin, perhaps slightly bigger at about 6-3 and 210 pounds, and has another advantage: He has no legal obligations to Russia.
Seems like the Rangers are stocking up on these Russian prospects. First Cherepanov in 2007, now Grachev in 2008?

He appears to emulate everything except how to spell Evgeni.
Is Geoff and Jeff the American version of this?

Perhaps George and Georges…which I guess is just Frenchified.
Steven and Stephen?
Frank and Phrank?

I’m also seeing it written ‘Evgeni’ on some Rangers site. I don’t think anyone knows.
