Bye Bye Bugsy
Malone is gone.
I am going to miss Malone, but I saw this one coming and I am certain he did too. It was written all over him in the moments right after the Cup loss. He knew he skated his last game as a hometown boy in a Pens jersey.
I was at a wedding today when I got the Pens Alert on my phone telling me the news. I must say that it was a little comical that everyone was crying tears of happiness and I was teary eyed from the text.
I wish Malone all the best in the world and I am proud that he will be the one representing the City of Pittsburgh in another organization.
So, enough mushy gushy stuff. Give me some feed back - What are the chances that TB will keep him?

Hey Jenn,
I think it’s going to be tough for TB to even hold onto him. They have Prospal back in their laps since re-acquiring the rights to him from Philly and it’s more than likely he’ll sign the dotted line. If Pitt couldn’t work anything out with him and the numbers they were throwing at him, then TB may not have as easy a go at it either.
It’ll be interesting to see what they do with him – but it doesn’t bring him any closer to the black and gold again.
I didn’t really care so much when they got rid of Army for Hossa, but this is definitely a bummer.

Our new owner, Koules, said he wasn't worried about overpaying
Which could either mean he’ll sign Malone for 5/yr or that he’s not going to overpay. Likely the former.

Family Affair
It cool that TB signed bugsy’s dad…7 years is a long time.

The Lightning are stacking up big time this year.
Now picking up the rights to Minnesota’s Brian Rolston:

How and where do you get Pens text alerts?

They have it listed on their website. They basically test you the quick Trib headline.
Text “PENS” to 32623.

hey – I had plans on posting fanshots opening it up to all of the hockey blogs on SBN. But I just didn’t want to spam, so instead relied on word of mouth.

yup, there’s always that. I genuinely just wanted to give something away too. So whatever comes of it is cool by me.
