Sidney Crosby wins ESPY - Best hockey player
This may be a day late because I honestly felt the schedule had a little more precedence than an ESPN award...
Anyways...
Sidney Crosby took home an ESPY for best NHL player, beating out the likes of Jarome Iginla, Alex Ovechkin, Pavel Datsyuk and teammate Evgeni Malkin.
Crosby was also nominated for the "Hummer like nothing else award" which, frankly, I'm happy he didn't win. In fact, I don't even know what it entails, but I think I'm ok without knowing. It's ok though - George Martin won it. Whoever that is...
I was also a trifle bit aghast to see David Beckham as the winner for "Best MLS Player." Wasn't he injured for most of last year? I guess if anything, his inflated and pointless contract for a sport with no life in this country is at least worth of an ESPY.

Using the Google, I found that George Martin was a character in the original Police Academy movie who faked a Hispanic accent to “score with the ladies”. To my knowledge, he has not been seen since.
About time someone gave him his due.
I'm sorry, Mr. Hossa, but I'm afraid we can't be friends anymore. Why? Because I hate you.

I Google’d him too, but your speculation is the best I’ve seen.
I fake a Icelandic accent to score with the ladies. Since most people aren’t familiar with an Icelandic accent, it can pretty much be whatever you want it to be. Try it.

I’ll get right on that.

The ESPYS
are the most pointless, contrived award show Ive ever seen. Youre right about Beckham, he was hurt, it shouldve gone to Juan Pablo Angel of NY
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.

Especially since Angel just got nominated to the All-Star Game. I don’t know much about Beckham, but I’d imagine he’s on the AS team as well if not only for his name.
