More prospect talk around the Pittsburgh Penguins camp - what do YOU want to know?
Some prospect rundowns coming from the Penguins' site about camp. Fact is, Alex Goligoski is getting the same sort of attention that Kris Letang was receiving before the start of last season. The only thing that tends to sway more in favor of GoGo is the fact that the Penguins are obviously starting the season short a defenseman. Unlike Letang, a position is wide open and ready for the picking. It's just going to come down to a "who" more than a "when."

Here's who the Penguins are touting on their own site:
The top forwards are:
Keven Veilleux
Luca Caputi
Dustin Jeffrey
Casey Pierro-Zabotel
Nathan Moon
As for defenseman:
Alex Goligoski
Carl Sneep
Brian Strait
Robert Bortuzzo
Nicholas D'Agostino
And probably one of the hardest positions to start, but a solid shot at potentially backing up MAF:
David Brown
Alexander Pechurski
Patrick Killeen
I'll admit, I'm hardly an expert on the minor league system. I watched as much of the Calder Cup as I could last season, but can hardly hail myself as an expert on the farm system. So I think I'm going to try and get in touch with someone who IS an expert.
Aside from inquiring about Goligoski and Caputi, is there anything you'd like me to look into? Leave your questions below and I'll see what I can do.

I would like to know who we have for wingers (other than Luca Capuit) that are viable for NHL play – or who may be centers who are versatile enough to try the switch to wing. I think that Staal may have a tryout on the wing this season, although I think he’s a more natural center – so apart from some new acquisitions in Pensonen and Satan, I’m interested in any new wingers that might make the jump.
