Just curious, but if a head coach goes, do his assistant coaches go as well, sort of coaching package? Or is individual?
They often put the assistant in until the end of the season or until they find a midseason replacement. That’s what Atlanta did last season, and something many teams have done in the past.

I need this… I had to defend Crosby and the Pens to a drunk Flames fan last night, as well as defending my son(wearing Oilers jersy) to drunk Edmonton fans. It was hard work. I need vindication

Not too tired for my inner tiger tonight Frank… : ) Is in a slump, yes, but what bugs me most is when people say it is because he is too focused on being the face of the NHL. It is not like he said ‘I will only play in the NHL if I get all the attention and marketing and image’ no he did not, and after the lock-out he did get hockey fans watching agian.
I’m one of those people saying that. Sure, his rookie year the Pens were horrible so I guess it didn’t matter much. But I think there is a lot of stress on the Pens to repeat and surpass last season’s performance so perhaps they just want the players to focus on hockey. I’m one of those people for sure.

they showed alot of fire in that third period. Crosby losing that face off with i think 16 seconds left on the clock killed the game
I’m with ya – but judging by how well Fernandez was playing tonight I don’t think it mattered all that much. If anything it killed any chances with ease.
