Sidney Crosby's injury - how bad is it?

(Props EmptyNetters for the find)

I'd expect some word to come out of the Pittsburgh Penguins' camp some time today explaining Sid's injury and whether or not he'll play tomorrow night against the Ducks.  If we don't hear something, then hopefully it's not one of those situations where they have to wait for swelling to go down before they can give it a look.  Those hardly ever turn out for the best.

In the mean time, what do you think?  Using the video as a judge, and of course a poor one at that, do you think he'll miss a lot of time for this one?

Update - 12:25 pm. : According to the Post-Gazette Sid didn't skate today.  On the bright side, Gonchar did.

Update - 2:10 pm: MRI came back negative.  Listed day-to-day with lower body injury.

When he left the bench to head to the locker room, it filled me with more confidence that it was not overly serious. I’m not too worried.

Sure, it may be a rough stretch, but at least it's okay to like Jaromir Jagr again.

Of course, the MRI result does allow me to quit holding my breath.

Seeing as how the All-Star Game is coming up too, I could’ve sworn I heard Bettman let out a sigh of relief around 2:00. Of course, he probably got the message sooner because he and Sid are tight, nah mean?

You could have two broken legs and still keep up in the All-Star Game.

I look at it on the positive side. We lost Sid last year around this time and Geno just took over everything. Hopefully he steps up again and becomes the second in command we know he is.

The power of Crosby compells you.

It’s the kind of thing you can remind people when they think Pittsburgh’s done for the season.
