Edit Update: Crosby, Letang, Scuderi and Talbot out
Sid skated this morning but will sit out tonight. Letang wasn't feeling too swift, no word on Talbot and Scuderi's eye is apparently swollen. Call up the farm. We're in bad shape.

This makes me sad.
Sure, it may be a rough stretch, but at least it's okay to like Jaromir Jagr again.
It literally hits every aspect of the team except goaltending. Crosby is the set-up guy and number two on the team in points. Talbot is the PK specialist, Scuderi is the shot blocker and Letang is…well, an underachiever so far this season. But to his credit that shot of his is starting to look really good and it’s only a matter of time. Unfortunately the Pens don’t have much of that left to work with.

I was about to mention Letang’s aptitude in the shootout last season which made me think – when’s the last time the Pens have had a shootout?

The answer is December 3. They haven’t won one since November 13.

I think i’m starting to forget what the original roster looked like. With the exception of Gonch, how many games have they actually played this season with a full team of ‘actual’ pens?
eesh, beats me. That would require a look deep into the archives of game summaries. Let’s figure that Fleury was out for at least 2-3 weeks while Whitney and Gonch were still out, so that’s that. Kennedy was out 2-4 weeks along with Gill. Fedotenko has been out the past week and a half with his broken hand and will remain out for at least another two or three. Dupuis is out again tonight and has been out since…Rangers? Can’t remember.
Letang was a scratch for a few games but i’m convinced he was just getting over a little injury that went unmentioned. Gogo got a scratch last week and Talbot is out again for however long after missing a few games here and there with foot/ankle issues.
So yeah – I know that doesn’t answer your question, but it at least shines some light on the darkness that has been the Penguins’ injuries.

I blame Mark Eaton for this entire mess.

Lemme guess – because for once he’s not hurt but everyone else is?
