Sidney Crosby to Miss All-Star Game... again
The NHL released a statement which said that Penguins center Sidney Crosby will not play in the All-Star game Sunday in Montreal.
The Penguins had no immediate comment. Crosby is believed to be considering his options.
Damnit! This doesn't really bother me that he's missing the game... what bothers me is if he doesn't do the skills competition. Last season the skills competition where they did the penalty shots(and were supposed to do something fancy) could have been awesome if Crosby would have been there.. because he would have actually tried some crazy stuff... unfortunately, the goalies were over-zealous and most of the players(besides St. Louis and AO) didn't really try anything cool. Crosby would have.
Hopefully he will still do the skills competition since obviously he can still skate and all of that.. we'll see.

Looks like he wasn’t 100% sure to begin with. After the Hurricanes game he said he’d man up and play the ASG, but it would appear he made the better decision (even if it means not seeing the skills competition). I wonder if Michel Therrien had an opinion on this matter…
hmmm

From reading this news source
it still doesn’t seem like he’s 100% sure what he’s doing. “Crosby is believed to be considering his options”

It sounded to me, from the different articles that I read, that Crosby wants to play, but that he’s had some doctor and probably team recommendations that he rest his injured knee (I think it’s knee…). It might be a battle of the wills – that being said, I’d rather he skip it and be healthy than play and risk injury – but like you said, the skills competition would be a lot more fun to watch if he was competing.

Looks like no skills competition either ;(
Crosby was slated to take part in the skills competition’s breakaway challenge – Healy said Crosby had been working on some new moves – but will now miss it.

blah. That sucks. At least he still gets the cred for getting voted in.
And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about the fact that he might get hurt before the ASG.
But at least Martin St. Louis is taking his place and not someone like, ya know, Mike Richards.
