Pittsburgh Penguins rumors: Pat Quinn to replace Michel Therrien?
I don't know how much I believe this, especially since he's rumored to be in the Ottawa coaching circle as well. Guy coaches the Juniors to a gold and suddenly he's on everyone's radar. Doesn't negate his 19 years coaching and 15 playoff appearances though...
This was also reported/discussed on the Penguins' flagship station 105.9 WXDX.

Huge Mistake.
I think it would be wrong to replace him right now!
Really though, don’t think the Penguins need any drastic changes like switching coaches at the moment.. hmpf.

I’m not sure how much switching coaches would do – it seems like a few players need to be coming out of whatever they’re in before anything gets turned around.

Allegedly Pat Quinn was waiting in the shadows if the Penguins lost the game against the Thrashers. Seeing as how they kick off a road trip tonight against the Predators, management was, and I say again ‘allegedly’, planning to replace him before they kicked it off.
I wouldn’t say MT is exactly secure right now by any means, but I also agree that shaking things up right now wouldn’t produce the best of results. There’s a notorious list of teams who flubbed the season following a Stanley Cup bid. I guess this is just something we (and the Pens) have to take in stride.

I keep telling myself we’re not even to the All-Star break yet. There’s plenty of time.
Maybe not for Therrien, perhaps, but definitely for the Pens.
