Admittedly it's never easy to replace a guy like Gonchar, but EN breaks down the defense and provides a little hope into this otherwise unfortunate development.

I was intensely surprised at Gonch’s even-strength time on ice, but even more so for his time short-handed…I would have expected the younger kids to take at least some of that time.
I am now officially un-worried about our next few weeks worth of games, I believe the young guns on D will step up and that Skoula will come in and take the short-handed time in order to fill in. We’ll be just fine.
