Sidney Crosby will run with the Olympic torch next month
CTV reports Crosby will have his chance to run with the torch next month as it makes its way through Nova Scotia and across the country towards Vancouver. Sid will be part of a torch relay that also includes runs from Vancouver's Trevor Linden and Phoenix Suns point guard Steve Nash.
Quoteth Sid:
"I am honoured and thrilled to have the opportunity to carry the Olympic flame in my home province of Nova Scotia. The torch relay will pass through so many communities and hands on the way to Vancouver and I'm privileged to be part of that special group as the Olympic Flame makes its way to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Games.''

I like that he sticks to his home roots
Plus I have a friend who lives in Halifax, so I’ll try and annoy him into taking pictures!

None other than Mr. Chris Kunitz.
dude, this is starting to get a bit much. If you look over some of the past posts almost every thread in one way or another has some bashing comment about Kunitz. I guess if the post relates to Kunitz or it’s a general reaction in the recap it’s cool but to make another Kunitz remark on a Sid Olympic torch post just seems a bit drastic.

We should hesitate before continuing on with the repeated bashing. However, the fan base isn’t asking for miracles…just one regular season tally before we hit the quarter pole would go a long way and quiet the critics, me included.

I almost said in the post, “Please wear a knee brace, ankle brace, helmet, shoulder pads, back brace, neck brace and visored helmet, just in case,” but figured I’d be jinxing it. So now if anything happens, it’s on you.
See what I did there?

better yet
lets just get him a monster size hamster ball with a slotted hole on the side. he runs with the torch outside the ball and the slotted hole just kind circles around his arm..

Some friends of mine and I build a giant hampster ball (geodesic dome) two summers ago. Believe me, that would be far more dangerous. Just the slightest slope will have the thing rolling faster than you could ever run. Was tons of fun on the baseball field though.
