Adventures in Futility: Distracting Sidney Crosby
If you haven't seen this as the Pensblog yet (and thanks to them for commisioning it to a reader, and to said reader for making it)
If we didn't even notice that fool (and we didn't) do you think a world class athlete like Crosby did? And notice I'm the only one of my friends to instantly celebrate by raising my arms since they're too busy recording the shootout on their cell phones. Welcome to 2009, huh?

If Sid wanted to be a complete jerk he should’ve scored, skated behind the net and waved to the fan. That’s what I would’ve done. But I also don’t play in the NHL and even if I did I doubt I would have tons of endorsements to risk by doing that.

Doing it with Class
No Sid already gets enough abuse for being “a classless jerk” by the haters. No need to rub it in their faces anymore. They’re so jealous it oozes out their ears!

I like how Sid saw that fan as much as Roloson saw the puck.

Ooh! Sick burn!
It weighs 35 pounds - unless you're hoisting it above your head.

There’s no way of telling from the video, but I think there’s a slight chance that waving Islanders fan may be the same overzealous, crazy Islanders fan I met up at the draft in Montreal. He talked a lot, mostly to himself, and likely didn’t notice when I casual stepped back and resumed seating and talking with the staff over at Pension Plan Puppets.

You know, as an added note, I think I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing this view more often during shootouts. The moves players make sometimes gets lost in the other view. Thoughts?

Nice seats, Hooks
Nice goal, too. Oh yeah, nice team you guys got these days. Congrats on the Cup win.
Just dropping in from the Copper & Blue (SB Nation’s Oilers blog) cuz I thought Penguins fans might have more reason than most to be interested in this article I recently wrote about Stanley Cup Final rematches. Among other things, it attempts to pin your team’s place in history. Any comparison that puts the 2009 Penguins in the same paragraph with the 1956 Canadiens and 1984 Oilers ought to whet your appetite.
Enjoy the season!
