Wow, I’m watching the Devils/Lighning game right now. Mike Smith just got crushed in net. He’s down and bleeding out on his face a bit from cuts from the mask. Given his issues with concussions I can’t imagine this is good.

It doesn’t bother me in the sense that it upsets me and offends me — it’s just absurd because Crosby is one of the best players in the NHL, so they are chanting something that is the opposite of reality… which makes it kind of sad… and it’s also sad that they seem to chant “Crosby sucks” more often than they chant positive things about their own players.
So it’s something we mock a lot, when Crosby scores for example. When we play the Flyers and Crosby scores I usually react by shouting “Crosby sucks!!!!!”
Yeah, it’s just a different way of looking at it. I hate Crosby. Despite him. And it might have to do with how he came into the league – I doubt Penguins fans will look back and say he wasn’t a whiner, even if he isn’t any more – but it’s mostly because he’s on our most hated rival, and he absolutely destroys us. Entering last night, he had 20 goals and 26 assists in 26 games against the Flyers. I doubt any Flyer fan will honestly say he’s terrible. He’s not. I think he’s overrated – The recent Hockey News article ranking him the best player in the world is ridiculous – since he’s not even the best player on his own team.
But, I also look at as something to get the fans into the game. Something else could work – a “Let’s Go Flyers” chant, for example – but this works every time. And what’s so wrong with that? If it offends Penguins fans, they’re just looking to get offended IMO.
