Where to buy a Talbot jersey?

My girlfriend recently dropped some hints that she would love a Max Talbot jersey for Christmas.

Unfortunately, not being in Pittsburgh anymore has taken the black and gold out of my every day life and I'm trying to find the best place to get her a women's cut Talbot jersey.

NHL.com sells the Penguins women's cut premier jerseys starting for $79.99 without customization.  With the name and number customization, that price jumps to $129.99.  I noticed that some online retailers sell the pre-customized Crosby and Malkin women's cut jerseys for $104.99.  But, no superstar!

Having the current income of a graduate student, I'm just wondering if any of you know where I might be able to find what I'm looking for at a more reasonable price.

On a related note, I've always wondered why football jerseys were so much more expensive than hockey jerseys.  I went through the same struggle last Christmas.  But, eventually came through with a women's cut Heath Miller jersey for a pretty reasonable price.

The content expressed in fanposts does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the staff here at Pensburgh.com. FanPosts are opinions expressed by fans of various teams throughout the league but may be more Pittsburgh-centric for obvious reasons.

I bought a relative a Fleury one for Christmas last year. I had it custom made on NHL.com for, if I’m not mistaken, $120. I know it’s kinda expensive but I’ve also read about Ebay purchases gone wrong (you know, like a #55 Nogchar jersey), so if I was going to put the money down I was going to make sure I got it right.

I don’t know if NHL.com is doing it now, but sometimes they put specials out there like free customization and shipping on all jerseys right around the holidays. Keep an eye out for that.

Otherwise I’d suggest checking out an online retailer. I’d steer clear of Ebay and such.

Best Kept Secret

I use this place a lot, and the customer service is brilliant with dirt cheap prices on jerseys. The custom stuff is a bit up there sadly, but, in the way my Winter Classic Toews was customed directly by the people who stitched up the ones on ice, it’s worth it for an authentic stitching job for that price considering authentic stitching is really pricey.

That said, eBay has some good finds, but good gravy watch out for those Chinese knock-offs, which either have bulky numbering or jumbo piping.

Yeah you gotta be careful not to get ripped off….Get too good of a deal and you probably got a bad deal.

This place is uber cheap. I’ve personally never bought a jersey from here (yet), but some friends of mine have and have been satisfied witht he quality.

Of course, I just realized they don’t have any Talbot jerseys. I think they did at one point however.

I feel your pain though, I’ve been looking near and far for some decently priced Tyler Kennedy jerseys. I have one that he signed, but I’m not about to wear that to games and stuff.

Oh and another thing that just came to mind, make sure wherever you buy it from says the letters, numbers and logo are sewn on. If you get the heat pressed ones they can shred and come off in the wash.
