Pensburg, is Bettman full of it or not?
This is a link great interview with Garry Bettman by macleans.ca

I wanted to ask you all one question about an assumption Bettman has.
When his recent public opinion polls are pointed out to him he replied,
"That’s based on the coverage, not necessarily the reality".
Is this true?
I do not live in Pittsburgh and do not wish to assume how you think and feel. So Im stopping by to present this poll and find out your thoughts on this matter

If I’m not mistaken he was booed the year before as well when he presented the Red Wings with the Cup on Pittsburgh ice. Either way, I think it’s more a fan reaction to the Cup going out to the enemy on home ice then it is a direct reaction to Bettman. Of course, I’d like to see what others think.
Frankly, if I’m there, I’m screaming my head off regardless. I could care less if Bettman is there or not.

I’m in that boat as well, though I can see where people would want to boo him, but, if this was in the Mellon, I think it would have been pandemonium from MAF’s save all the way on to the final player leaving the ice. That’s not to say there would be no reaction at Bettman, but I bet it would be pretty muffled in comparison.

-Bettman got booed in Detroit.
-Bettman got booed in Pittsburgh the year before.
-Bettman gets booed at the draft every year that he takes to the podium, regardless of the city.
Maybe there’s a trend.
However, I wouldn’t be booing Bettman if he was about to award a Stanley Cup to the Pens. I’d be a little more excited about the Cup and focused on the celebration. So it

I enjoy hockey despite Bettman. He’d be a non-factor for me, aside from my thinking hard at him to “Keep it short, jerk.” My cheering (or booing) would have nothing to do with him at all.

Agreed with pretty much everyone here. At that point, Bettman would be a non-factor.

Gary isn’t exactly popular – which, given how good the game itself is right now, says something as to the dude’s likability.
Also, what’s up with sports commishes and looking like the last kid picked in dodgeball? Selig and Stern have the same thing going on. (The NFL breaks this trend, admittedly.)

I wouldn't cheer for Bettman.
I’d save it for the Pens. Honestly though I rarely can yell by that point in a game. I tend to be loud the whole game and my voice is gone by the end.
