It's official: Sergei Gonchar and Max Talbot return tonight
It figures - mere seconds after I toss up a fanshot that questions whether Gonch is still questionable, the Pens release official word that both Sergei Gonchar AND Max Talbot will return to the lineup tonight.
This, in case you needed me to tell you, is a good thing. However I still have my reservations with Gonch, and that is more or less rooted in the concern that he may be getting rushed back before he's 100% ready to hit the ice. I know, I know, he was cleared for contact last week. So was Max. But I think Gonch was still mentioning some discomfort in his shoulder and wrist last week, so there's a chance he won't be 100% tonight.
But in all honesty I'd love to be proven wrong.
Looks like the Chris Lee call up is a precautionary thing. I haven't read anything that leads me to believe that Mark Eaton is injured - or at least admitting to it. He did miss today's practice but is listed on the defensive pairings that were released this morning.

Seems like Gonchar is rushing back. I don’t care how short handed the Pens are right now, unless its late May or June, no reason to rush back from injury. I don’t understand the shoulder pain though, what is that about? From last offseason? Or did that happen along with the broken wrist? I read that yesterday too I couldn’t tell if that was a typo or what. Then today I read that he had discomfort in his wrist still as of yesterday. Idk with the way things have been going for the Pens on the injury front, this just seems like a bad idea.
gonch is a defensman playing for the Pens, disaster is the most likely option.

Trib-review says Eaton’s game time with back spasms, hence the Lee callup. We can’t even have normal injuries on this team, we have to have finger infections and back spasms.
It’s almost getting to the pitiful point of baseball injuries. Last season a pitcher (can’t remember who) missed 3 weeks because of a hang nail (I’m not kidding). And I still remember when Kerry Wood (back when he pitched as a starter for the Cubs) missed a few games because he cut his finger while opening a soda can.

lets hope we can keep that clock ticking tonight without the need for a reset.

Of course I’d imagine “TBD” is now replaced with Gonchar.

Actually I think TBD is the newest WB/S callup… it was a real under the radar signing over the summer.
Tomas Burdenhousin Dubliewicz, or TBD for short. Biggest offseason signing in the history of the franchise.

Not all of us, but some. And for those that do, and for those that have been injured there, any report of such is met with many dreaded and painful memories.

Hey, an out is an out - unless you're Mario, in which case it's probably two outs. -UtesFan89
