Cocktail Recipe--The Skoula Bus
I really, really thought I wasn't going to be doing this for a little while! What I'm trying to do with these posts is a cocktail for each Penguins player, not for each game. (This will be the fifth so far.) But Martin Skoula had himself one hell of a game with those two goals against the Thrashers, and I thought I should recognize today.
If this looks familiar, that's probably because it's a spinoff of the Lynyrd Skynyrd. I think Lynyrd Skynyrds are a bit too sweet. Swapping out orange soda for ginger ale turned it into something I liked much better. It's not the prettiest color, but it does the job, the way Skoula did in Atlanta.
The Skoula Bus
2 oz bourbon
4 oz ginger ale, regular or diet
4 oz orange juice
Pour bourbon into a collins glass almost filled with ice. Build the drink--first orange juice, then ginger ale. Stir and enjoy.

This might make two drinks in a row where I get sick from the contents. I haven’t had soda in over four years, although Ginger Ale might be doable. I think I’d more than likely get sick from soda than I would bourbon.

I’ll see what I can do for next time. :-)
