Interesting
Dupuis – Crosby – Guerin
Rupp – Malkin – Tenk
Cooke – Staal – Kennedy
Talbot – Adams – Godard

Dunno. I thought Talbot was going to be on the first line with SId. Dupuis is an odd choice

Stupid NHL Network blocking out my Gamecenter. I hardly count that as national TV. Anybody got a good feed?
Hal Gill out there. Skate circles around him!

Great goal by Gonch. Even better dish by Guerin

I seem to be lagging here by about three minutes.

Let’s hope we don’t get an actual PP or it will all fall apart.

Great period.
Yeah, there is a little lag right now on SBN. I sent in a report to the tech peeps to let them know. Hopefully that’ll be cleared up soon.

Good period from the Pens…The only bad things I really saw were Sid passing (literally) up a few scoring chances, and Malkin’s faceoff’s the guy looks like he doesn’t even try sometimes. Other than that, the Pens are totally flying! I’m happy that super super got an ass.
Epic Fail at the NHL Network analysists saying that a team can’t win a cup with a run and gun type offense(huh?)…Kevin Weekes even added that a team needs the perfect balance between offense and defense, which is logical, but he said that the Red Wings were the perfect example….lol
I think we got one. jeez it’s getting to the point I think the next time the pens get a power play, they should just decline it and take 2 minutes off of the clock.
Yeah, really. That PP was the only time in this game that we really looked weak.

I think we’re back in business around here. Things seem to have sped up a bit for comments

As soon as the four on four ended, it was like a shroud of death encompassed the team. Amazing.

I continue to be mystified by just how bad our PP is when our team is so good. The only theory I can come up with is that our guys are really good and they know they’re really good so when they have a powerplay they think they need to make a highlight reel play every single time so they wait and hold on to it and slow down the pace and ease off the pressure passing it around endlessly looking for the perfect look instead of just putting it on net.
over passing, under shooting, over thinking…all of that comes to mind when I see the PP hit the ice. All I can say is the cliche Keep Is Simple Stupid. Just hold the zone, work the puck and take some shots. It doesn’t have to be pretty

What’s with this call on Tenk? Come on. You won’t call it on Montreal but you’ll call it on Pittsburgh?

Like actually sending the puck towards the net…

that quote is just about as accurate an assessment as you can get

Good, we can carry the momentum into the third, hopefully.

Ok period for the Pens. Seemed like they dominated the first seven, then Montreal kind of took over for a while (that BS penalty didn’t help).
I liked the movement on the Pens PP though…it’s a change from their normal style, so we should give it a little time and I think (hope!) it will start clicking.
anyone know the 3rd period key word is in case i actually get into the sweepstakes?
WE ARE.......PENN STATE!
haven’t heard it yet. I saw something before that mentioned Candy Cane. Maybe that’s it

You can decline a penalty in football, why not hockey?

I heard it mentioned earlier. Don’t know what that was for though

So Sid says we should be more patient on the powerplay? If we were any more patient we would actually be standing still.
of all the people to get that chance I’m happy it was him

Please just end this in regulation. I can’t take an OT game right now

Shouldn’t he get the goal sicne he deflected it in?

He’s got a rocket; it’s just not the most accurate.
by OlenWhitaker on Dec 10, 2009 9:49 PM EST up reply actions
Yeah, his only problem is that he’s often launching them right into the pads or over the net. That one was going over the crossbar but Price helped out

no goal. take that for giving Tenks two earlier in the game. Thank you. Try again.

yup, especially since Montreal scored on that one. It’s all good now.

How many times are we going to see the net come loose tonight?
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
phew, close at the end. good game. 3-0 over the Habs this year. Keep it going
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
Malkin: 0 pts (8 shots though)
Crosby: 0 pts
And the Pens still win anyway – against a streaking team too.
Man those Montreal fans sure like to boo huh?
I was actually a little surprised they booed Crosby, as he’s about to try and lead (offensively speaking)Team Canada to gold in just two months and hockey’s everything in Montreal so….just didn’t make a lot of sense to me.
