In a perfect world, Hartnell and Letang would throw down right off the whistle. But Letang won’t fight because, well, I don’t really think he can.

Thanks! I’m blacked out on Gamecenter because it’s versus. (Don’t they think that if I had Versus I would watch the game on TV? Sigh.)

Nice to see Emrick calling our game. He’s easily my favorite play-by-play guy.

That it another perk of being a Devil’s fan – getting to hear Mike Emrick call about seventy regular season games. I don’t know how fans of other teams can listen to their awful play-by-play and colour analysts (*cough*JoeBeninati*cough*).

I can’t believe some of the Penguins put packing peanuts inside the team trainer’s car. Is it a guy thing? Is it just something that, as a girl, I just don’t get?

by kellyn on Dec 15, 2009 7:08 PM EST reply actions

It must be a guy thing. I would find that hilarious.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 15, 2009 7:09 PM EST up reply actions

I too find it slightly amusing, but then again, I don’t ever really find myself thinking, ‘Hey, I’m kinda bored today. Let’s steal our boss’s keys and put packing peanuts in her car!" I guess I’m just not creative when it comes to practical jokes.

by kellyn on Dec 15, 2009 7:11 PM EST up reply actions

Pranks keep it fun. Back in college when I worked at Best Buy a guy in the shipping department wrapped the manager’s car in shrink wrap. I thought that was pretty funny. Until the manager had to leave and spent about 1/2 hr in 25 degree weather scraping away with a box cutter.

My brother works at a battery factory and he and a bunch of his coworkers once super-glued the tool box of a guy they didn’t like to the roof. I thought it was kind of funny. So is wrapping someone’s car with bubble wrap. I’m surprised your boss was only out there for half an hour trying to liberate his car with a box cutter. It takes me freaking forever to open and breakdown the boxes of shipment with the crappy box cutters we have where I work.

by Randy F on Dec 15, 2009 7:42 PM EST reply actions

The Penguins need to kill this penalty to end the period on a good note. They also need to score either before the end of this period or at the start of the second. The Flyers have struggled lately, especially on offense, and if the Penguins can regain a two-goal lead or more, it might kill any hope the Flyers have of winning.

Yeah, they’ve had a pretty monumental collapse. Still an outside chance at the playoffs though.

by packallday555 on Dec 15, 2009 8:39 PM EST up reply actions

WAY outside. Broncos and Eagles/Cowboys are two games ahead. Not much chance of even the second wildcard.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 15, 2009 8:41 PM EST up reply actions

Well the Boys and Eagles are in the NFC. The Broncos probably have the 1st wildcard locked up but I think Pitt is only 1 game back for the 2nd spot.

by packallday555 on Dec 15, 2009 8:43 PM EST up reply actions

You’re right. What was I thinking? Don’t know, but there are four teams with seven wins making it unlikely the Steelers can pass all of them.

third point for Bing…now, he’s only 3 points behind in the scoring race.

Pens are awesome on puck support tonight. They’re not joking around against the Flyers.

Also: That’s three points for Bing on the night.

by SlayerGhaleon on Dec 15, 2009 8:49 PM EST reply actions

Watching Staal play lately, I’ve been thinking the Canadian squad would be wise to pick him up. If he keeps it going like tonight, maybe they will!

by monge15 on Dec 15, 2009 9:04 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, he’s looked strong all over the ice tonight. He’s still got one period to get the hatty.

When your two-way forward lays a hard hit on the other team’s forward, there’s a word for that:

hockey.

When your captain starts laying dirty hits on unsuspecting players not controlling the puck and sends them off on a stretcher, then there’s a word for that too:

goon.
