looking forward to another good one. As good as Tuesday’s game was, it’s always nicer when they do it on Philly ice.

BTW conspiracy theory Im sure in Flyers minds, of course that wasnt a high stick on crosbyy..just the league wanting the Pens to win

of course. Because ya know, Crosby can fake an obvious stick to the face

Nice puck management on that PP, if nothing else. Keep it in their zone and you’ll get chances.

I think so. I like what I’ve seen in the last two games.

Rupp definitely had the upper hand. Has the overall reach too of course. But they fought constantly too when Rupp was with NJ and Asham with the Islanders. I’ve seen it go both ways in the past

by FrankD on Dec 17, 2009 7:19 PM EST up reply actions

I’d call it a draw. Maybe a slight win for Noted with the helmet removal and the takedown.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 17, 2009 7:19 PM EST reply actions

Ouch. Sarge actually knocked that one in. That hurts.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 17, 2009 7:23 PM EST reply actions

stick was between the legs, had to call it

by Repperson29 on Dec 17, 2009 7:24 PM EST up reply actions

It didn’t look like it was between his legs to me, although I don’t have a very high-res view.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 17, 2009 7:25 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, TK only had one hand on his stick; I don’t see how he could have sent the guy flying unless he took a dive.

by SlayerGhaleon on Dec 17, 2009 7:30 PM EST reply actions

I have often wondered how anyone could possibly become a Flyers fan in the first place. I imagine the exchange goes something like this:

Flyers fan: Hey, check this out; it’s a bunch of cement-headed goons who suck at hockey!
Prospective fan: Hmm. Sounds interesting. If only they were ugly as hell and hadn’t won a Stanley Cup since before I was born.
Flyers fan: Dude, it’s your lucky day!

Of course, I can understand it more if they’re actually from Philadelphia. Living in Philly has got to mess with your sanity. If I lived for five years in a place like that I would probably be incapable of rational decision making too. Of course, if I was ever capable of rational decision making, would I live in Philly to begin with?

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 17, 2009 7:40 PM EST reply actions

I don’t live far from Philly. Old City is a really nice area but the heart of the city is just annoying to deal with. I really only go for games now, and by that I mean for whatever team the Philly team is playing against in whatever sport.

decent first period. 1 for 2 on the pp rupp winning the fight billy with the goal not a bad first 20

by guns dont kill people pittsburgh does on Dec 17, 2009 7:44 PM EST reply actions

Good period for the Pens…Nice dirty goal on the PP.
Flyers fans seem pretty fed up…I think they actually booed their own team more or just as much as they did the Crosby chant.
I love the new FSN Crosby hat trick commercial, using “Let It Snow” as the music is pretty creative.

It’s a little much when they accuse Crosby of basically diving when he got high-sticked and they also insinuated that PIttsburgh stat-keepers are pretty liberal in dishing out hits (we’ll see about that).

Definitely not the worst batch of homers coughCOLORADOcough, but they do naturally (and obviously) cheer for the Flyers. Thus they annoy me.

Are we gonna get one off this faceoff? I feel like a goal is imminent.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 17, 2009 9:31 PM EST reply actions

haven’t been able to win a crucial faceoff yet

by cmypath78 on Dec 17, 2009 9:31 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah, we’ve looked really soft in that department in this game.

by OlenWhitaker on Dec 17, 2009 9:32 PM EST up reply actions

they should change the pts in OT games, both teams should only get a pt if it goes to a SO, if the game ends in OT, only 2 pts awarded, to winning team,

Shootouts suck, win or lose. Should’ve been a tie. Still a great game.

This is why Bylsma works on shootouts so much in practice. He knows what’s up. Make a game out of it, keep the guys loose and they’ll show up big time

Exciting game…Great performance by the two goaltenders, even though Boucher kind of whiffed on the shootout goal by Crosby.
