Your pick for player of the game

It's not something we do every game, but given the circumstances it seems only right.  If you caught the post-game three star selections then forget you did.  This is based entirely on what you think.

I think you gotta go Fleury, especially since he denied all the gimmick attempts too.

I’m happy to see the majority (so far) feel the same way. He was a beast in net last night. His pad save to close out the shootout was a thing of beauty.

I can’t see anyone but Fleury getting the nod.

Let's go Pens!

Ok, who voted for Thomas? I just don’t understand it, that’s all.

I’m curious as well. I sense a Sharks fan…

It twas not I, but maybe you should have thrown Blake in the poll as well- he helped out Thomas a bit ;)

Nice seeing him get the first goal of his NHL career though.

in Thomas’ defence…..it doesn’t matter how many saves Fleury made last night….if Thomas doesn’t score that goal…..we lose the game 1-0 or worse. we started off looking pretty good and his garbage goal IMO is exactly what we needed to believe that we could win that game and compete with the #1 team in the league.

For the record, I voted for Fleury and if the option of “Whole Team” was a choice for player(s) of the game, then i would have taken that on account of putting up 36 shots on a team who allows the fewest per game.

I think both regulation goals were garbage. It turned into that sort of game because Fleury and Boucher were pretty unbeatable. Granted San Jose’s goal was a bit prettier than Pitt’s, but it was really just a junked rebound off a leg that beat Fleury because he went to play the puck and not the unexpected ding off a defenseman.

Great goaltending last night, both netminders really were on their A game. I’m pulling for you guys to make the playoffs and roll off some upsets. Until June that is…..

That’s all pending on whether or not there is a June. A lot of Pens fans are getting tired of hearing things like “NOW the Pens will turn it around,” and “This is the win they needed.” That’s more or less been the story all year. With that said, the game back in October pales in comparison to last night’s effort. Either way your boys look tough this year.
