PITTSBURGH PENGUINS (28-25-6) vs PHILADELPHIA FLYERS (31-16-19)

It's not often that Penguins fans find themselves cheering for the Flyers, but If you're pulling for the best interest of Pittsburgh (regardless of grudges) then Philly's 6-3 win over Buffalo Thursday night was a welcome sight.
Combined with Pitt's win over Montreal, the Flyers helped the Penguins move within four points of the eighth place Sabres. Now if they'd kindly allow the Penguins to pick up two more points, that would be swell.
The Penguins hold a 3-1 series lead over the Flyers this season, but remain 1-1 on Philly ice. Obviously that will change after today's game, preferably for the better.
Philly is 5-2 for the month of February, but both losses have come at the Wachovia Center.
Perhaps there's also the time factor to consider. The Penguins are 1-3 in games starting on or before 1:00, or in the case of Florida, 1:05 (why?). This may be one of those stats that implies the Penguins are simply horrible during afternoon games, or it can be one of those things that eludes even the most analytical of experts. Either way, the 6-3 loss to the Flyers back on December 13 was a 1 pm start.
Expect Martin Biron in net for the Flyers.
Marc-Andre Fleury likely in net for Pitt despite his shaky outing against the Canadiens.

i’m sure they are in a position to at least be keeping an eye on the score.

paul walker is in it and near the end something happens involving an arena, some hard slap-shots, and 2 guys’ faces being held against the ice. Just guess what happens. A great movie though all in all.

i’m loving this new style of play. Really focuses on our speed. Thats one thing that 3rd/4th liners usually have.
I was skeptical that a coaching change would do the trick, fingers crossed it seems to be effective.
if you think about the changes, it kinda makes sense. Our 3rd/4th liners can’t score consistently but speed seems to be something that the majority of this team has. Byslma is really using the skills that we have and you are right, it seems to be working.

I always have my doubts about unsportsman like from Malkin, the dude seems so impervious to that kind of stuff.
and gloating to the other teams bench in international play

Hey yall. Definitely been keeping an eye on the score. Had some family over for lunch so it was on in the background but had a chance to catch that second period. What a game so far.

If you’re in the mood for some extra entertainment, be sure to read the comments on Broad Street Hockey. And they say Sid cries a lot…

i don’t even care anymore that ppl say Sid cries. Everyone complains in hockey at some point or another. Can’t they find anything new to say?? Gretzky complained. Lemieux complained. I’d rather be a whiner and be top 3 in scoring year in and year out than an average player who keeps his opinions to himself on the ice.

like i said the other day about D-men foolishly putting their stick in the line of fire. It did look as though Scuds did have a decent shot at intercepting that shot or blocking it as it wasn’t a very hard shot
Maybe now we know who next game’s scratch is going to be on D

Letang is scratched again I see. Does that mean Bee is gonna rotate D scratches every 2 games?

Someone better keep Hartnell out of the crease. We already know he’s a no-talent hack. We don’t need him getting a lucky deflection goal…

wow….the fans are real upset at an offsides….a penalty i understand but offsides they do love their flyers and sure get into it.
Can’t knock Philly fans for their loyalty. Or any team for that matter. But they’ll just as easily turn on their team as they will cheer for them. I guess that’s the one distinct characteristic of Flyers fans

you should see Leafs fans jump all over a guy when he ‘s slumping. Really strange but T.O. is a HUGE hockey market so you can’t blame em like you said.

Yeah they’ve been ragging on Blake since he came on board

I’ve seen them jump on Antropov, McCabe, Hoglund, Raycroft, etc. among many others

I’m all for it. This is how they should’ve played all season long. So it’s nice to finally see it

I think Gamecenter is still a bit too new to work properly. The idea is good but they definitely had some issues this year

I cancelled my subscription as well because atdhe is awesome, but I also have hockeystreams.com just in case; )
i agree. i had problems maximizing and minimizing the screen without it automastically logging me out and sending me to the radio feed. Real annoying when you have to constantly log back in and hope that you get sent to the video and not radio.

And they claim Biron may be on the market before the deadline. What team wants him after a move like that?

That was a good hard fought win
congrats Pens.

I think we owe Broad Street Hockey a big thank you for Biron….

they played a good game. It’s obvious they have a stacked team this year but that’s as far as I’m going on a compliment right now

i hope the Pens secure the 6 seed and the Caps keep the 3 seed. I think i’m feeling another 3-1 series deficit comeback from the Pens.

I’ll be happy with 8 seed first. From there they can go as high as they’d like
