Dr. Geno
Okay, so is it my bright shiny newbie-ism that makes me feel like a freakin' four year old, wide eyed and mezmorized when Evegni Malkin pulls one of his stunts? Like when he scored the deciding goal in the shoot out against the Panthers Tuesday or the YouTube glory that is his Superman goal or the fact that he can draw penalties better than Walt Disney could draw a mouse.
I mean this guy uses his stick like a scalpel. He can surgically remove the puck from the pending pressure of pressing opponents and keep it in his control far longer than he should have been able. Facial expressions aside, Geno looks smarter than the guy next to him on the ice and I love it. I love it more than "Evgeni Malkin Learns English Collection" (shout out to FrankD for a fine piece of work).
I realize I don't know enough about hockey to fill a pamphlet - or a post-it - so I have no idea if comparitively what he does is special even though I have a feeling it is...alot. Let's just say from the perspective of a figurative four year old even I know that when you step on the ice with him you're not playing with just a professional you're playing with a doctor and I can't wait to see what Dr. Geno's ordered tonight.

I seriously LOL’d for realsy there.
What you’re experiencing while watching Malkin is exactly what Pens fans experienced while watching Lemieux in the 80s/90s and Jagr throughout the 90s early 2Ks. You just know when a special player hits the ice and he’s definitely one of them. Sometimes I think he can get a bit showy with his puck control but I highly doubt it’s for the spectacle of it. If he can draw one or more defenders to him, maneuver around and find the open man (like he has done 60+ times this season) then he’s doing his job.
You keep watching him and I guarantee that within another season or two you’ll know how awesome it will be to tell your grandkids that you actually saw Evgeni Malkin play. Same can be said of Ovechkin and Crosby.

Always knew he was special
Or well, maybe not, but seriously, after watching the few games I get to see this season, it’s like absolutely marvelous to watch him at times.
A total valid reason for a Geno Fanclub :)

I love it. i feel like I’m in the same boat as you some times. But i do agree with you Geno is a fantastic playing with a great ability to play with the puck. But i’ll also be the first to admit that the turnovers he sometime creates annoys the piss out of me.
lol, i totally agree, he’s so good and yet sometimes (like last night for example) i’m yellin at my tv “what the hell Geno?”

lol this guy is so … unreadable. he has the puck and your so scared if he’s gonna do something wicked with it, jst skate with it…or give it away. and that’s the thing with malkin, because when he does give it away, it’s like one of the worst plays you’ve ever seen in your life leaving you like? Geno?? Dude, who are you playing for??
other times your like… GENO! YOUR THE MAN!
either way, you don’t care because you love the guy for playing with the pens, for living in pittsburgh and everything he does leaves you wanting for more, good or bad. hahaah, what a beast. =)

yeah when he gives up the puck its usually at the blue line and someone has a good chance at a nice breakaway. but hey his good plays more than make up for his bad plays.
B-SIS
