Miroslav Satan re-called by Pittsburgh
Miroslav Satan cleared re-entry waivers (good on the rest of the league for not claiming him, as Satan's not eligible to play for them in the NHL or AHL playoffs).
Satan, a salary cap casualty after the trade deadline, scored 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists) in 65 games with Pittsburgh. Down on the farm Satan kept a good attitude and netted 9 points (3g, 6a) in 10 games.
We all know Satan's a disappointment this season and new additions like Bill Guerin and Chris Kunitz have worked out better...But it's always nice to have a little depth, and Satan's nothing if not that.

Like I said on your fanpost, it’ll be interesting to see what in the world the Pens have planned for Satan.
Satan struggled when he was cast as a lower line forward in Pittsburgh, but he’s got to be a better all around player than a guy like Adams, right?
Maybe they want him back mainly for depth? Maybe as a chance to play in the NHL and it truly was just a salary issue?
But with the forwards playing as well as they have since Satan was banished, it’s hard to argue a change needs to be really made. I guess we’ll see.
That is the biggest question, what will be Satan’s role? I see him getting time only in a top six role. He has shown a lack of ability, or desire, as a bottom six guy and with guys like Adams and even Godard on the roster I would prefer to see them in a checking role.
Fedetenko is the key for Satan. If Tanks struggles look for Satan to get his shot. Otherwise Satan will be watching from the press box.
However, maybe the time in the minors was the kick-in-the-ass Satan needed to get his head straight and help him realize that he is not beyond reproach. Satan may be fighting for his NHL life these playoffs. I am looking forward to watch the drama unfold! If he is willing to fight for space and show the effort he was showing just before he was sent down I say let him play a bottom six role and he can always be used as a secret weapon in a game, a shootout, or the PP.
Life is about one simple choice, get busy living or get busy dying
Maybe his time with WB/S gave Satan a chance to mull over what he needs to do on the professional level if he hopes to play in the NHL next season. There’s no denying that his play has been a bit disappointing this season but the whole salary issue may have been a bigger reason for the demotion than anything else.
