Poor RJ. Guess he’s following the path of another player who once wore the Flyers uni.

What makes that worse is that he WAS looking up. He looks up at least twice, and still gets rocked. Wow…

Yeah i live about 10 min away from glens falls. Ive been reading about it in the paper everyday up here. The lease is for 3 years with an option of 2 years after the 3 years is up. The city board is voting on the lease tonight. However, the owners of the phantoms are saying that there needs to be a 2,500 seat commitment to season ticket holders for glens falls to have the best chance of getting the phantoms here. There are currently just under 1,000 that placed deposits down and the owners said that 2,500 number needs to be reached by the end of april. So hopefully the team will still be able to come even if that number isn’t reached. Here is the link in the local newspaper. http://www.poststar.com/articles/2009/04/22/news/local/14687940.txt
Sure would be nice to see the baby pens play up here rather then having to travel the hour down to albany to see them play.
GO PENS!!!!!!!!
That would be pretty awesome for you then. Forgive my ignorance, but upstate New York just kinda seems like it’s jumbled together. Is Binghamton far from Glen Falls? I hear the Baby Sens are pretty fun to watch too.

"Pens/Flyers can't be a true rivalry, because one team keeps on winning these days."
So I guess it wasn’t a true rivalry when the Penguins didn’t win a game in Philadelphia for 15 years (Feb. 7, 1974 – Feb. 2, 1989). One team kept on winning in those days.
I guess it wasn’t a true rivalry when the Flyers upset the Pens in 7 games back in 1989, when the Flyers brushed the Penguins aside in 5 games back in 1997, or when the Flyers came back from losing their first two games to the Pens AT HOME in 2000. One team just kept on winning in those days.
I guess it wasn’t a true rivalry in the early 1990s, when the Flyers were lousy and the Pens were winning the Cup and causing Paul Holmgren to get fired. One team just kept on winning in those days.
Which brings us to “these days”, where the Penguins have had the advantage since 2006.
My point is that the history of the Flyers/Penguins rivalry has always been a streaky one. Either one team dominates or the other does. How does that not make it a rivalry?
Do you see what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps?
Good point
But the article was saying that the Flyers aren’t worthy of being considered equals if they keep getting owned.
You’re right, and it was a stupid article because it’s obviously a rivalry (just read post-game quotes, for christsakes) but it was basically Flyer bashing. And as a Flyers fan, I honestly wasn’t even upset by it. A) it’s the Trib; B) Its thesis is clearly wrong; and C) (As you pointed out) rivalries don’t need to be evenly matched.

Don’t rag on the trib too much. They had a dedicated hockey writer waaaaay before the PG did and they print two full pages of nothing but Pens and Baby Pens every weekend. You’re right it is a stupid article but I’ll take the Philly bashing anyways.
Yeah, my Trib bashing is premised on the paper as a whole, with no knowledge of the sports section. When I lived in Pittsburgh, I never read the sports pages because I didn’t care. Besides, it was pretty good Philly bashing – subtle and seemingly above the tmuck.
