Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Philadelphia Flyers [Game 6 Preview/Open Thread]

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS vs PHILADELPHIA FLYERS
PENGUINS LEAD SERIES 3-2
IN PHILADELPHIA @ 3:00
RADIO FEED ON WXDX.COM
FLYERS BLOGS: BROAD STREET HOCKEY
NOTES
Dan Bylsma hasn't announced any big lineup changes just yet. I'd imagine some of his decisions may be game time ones.
Interesting stats courtesy of the Post-Gazette:
The Penguins are 23-22 when they can clinch a series.
The Flyers are 43-12 all time in playoff games against the Pens. [Edit: It was decided based on sheer impossibility and lack of playoff series that this is a false stat. PG never changed, but commentors have dispelled it]
For the first period we'll start the thread over at Broad Street. We'll come back for good during the second period, wave good-bye to BSH at the beginning of the third and stick it out here until the game is over.
No denying how important this game is. Let's see Pitt end this on Philly ice.

seriously, flyers are 43-12 against the pens in playoffs? That’s ridiculous number, especially since 7 of the pens wins have come this year and last….that’s gotta be a typo, right?
I thought so too. It was on the paper’s site though, for all that’s worth

39-5 going into last season’s playoffs…that’s crazy…

If I remember, last year was the first series win over the Flyers for the Pens.

it's 4 PM Eastern, the NFL draft is about to begin
please excuse me while I take a moment of silence for myself and all my fellow Lions fans….
I’m asking because i just saw a guy screaming with a beer in hand. To be honest with ya that’s kinda pathetic

How great would it be to be Mel Kiper though, the guy works like one week out of the year and actually puts in any real time over like 2 days and gets paid a boatload of money

I don’t even know where the Jets are drafting at. Probably at 14 or something

I think they’ll trade up anyways. They apparently want Crabtree so he can drop passes from Kellen Clemens

It actually reminds me more of what Mike Ribiero did to the Los Angeles crowd after he scored a goal n the shootout against the Kings. He made a ‘shh’ motion with his hand, and really pissed off a lot of the players on the LA bench.
The Flyers live and die on their emotion.
Carcillo has brought it the last few games.
Shut up, Olczyk.

I’m concerned that, being up 3 goals, we’re going to just sit back. But hopefully this woke us up again.

Richards
Carter

Lupul
Hartnell

Asham
Giroux
Carcillo
Powe.

Congratulations.
Eddie Olczyk can go on all he wants about the fight changing the momentum of the game. Maybe it’s true and maybe it isn’t. But overall, the Pens stuck with their game plan, even when a game 7 looked pretty darn realistic. For that, they deserve all the credit in the world.
I said at the beginning of the series that I wanted the better team to win, and I got my wish. Too bad I’m not a Penguins fan.
Congratulations, best of luck the rest of the way, and thanks for being such great hosts. This was a lot of fun – I’m looking forward to next year’s matchup already.
And Pens-Bruins in the East Finals would be a great series to watch.
