So there could be 3 three day breaks? I don’t like it.
But it will be nice to give Gonchar a lot of time to heal. If he skips Game 1 and comes back for Game 2 that would give him an 8 day layoff from Game 7 of the Caps series.
Yeah, I don’t get it either but it definitely gives Gonch a chance to heal up. I know that at this point in the season the Pens could use a little time to heal up but hopefully it doesn’t break the rhythm either…

I dont like that schedule at all
This isn’t the freaking NBA. Let’s play every other day.

i dont know
with all the little nicks and bruises i dont think three seperate three day breaks will really hurt either team. however with severe injuries it wont have an impact either because a severe injury at this point in the game will end a season. if there was a 3 day break in b/w each game then yeah i can see and issue but as it is, to me its just the league trying to schedule things to get the best ratings

I hate that schedule, personally. Yeah, it gives both teams a break, but how much does an extra day help a guy who needs cortisone shots? If a guy has a separated shoulder, or a knee that needs to be drained, an extra day doesn’t really help him that much. And the “best ratings” argument doesn’t make a whole lot of sense either. If it was every other day, you’d have a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. For those who didn’t feel like reading, that’s one game on every day of the week if it goes seven. Instead, this schedule has two Tuesday’s and no Wednesday’s. Afraid to go against American Idol? I don’t get it. And no games on NBC, so they aren’t taking advantage of the afternoon crowd (I hear that was successful in both Was/Pit and Pit/Phi series, could be wrong). Bottom line, I don’t get the schedule as benefiting ratings or players. Or fans, for that matter. I want every other day. Anyway, that’s my rant.

I know there are building conflicts in Pittsburgh {Bruce Springsteen is coming}, plus I believe the NHL only wants one game a night since three of the four teams are in the Eastern Time Zone. I am surprised that 7:30 starting times came back.
No day games this time either! Pens don’t do too well in the daytime…
Hah that’s funny. The first thing I looked for was a day game and for that exact reason.
