PG Reports Jason Botterill Next Assistant GM
The PG is reporting that Jason Botterill has been promoted to Assistant GM. Evidently, he was a salary cap guru that Shero relied upon. Considering that this move happened as quick as it did, it sounds like there was a succession plan in place and Botterill has been singled out for quite some time. As everyone knows, management of the salary cap is what is going to make or break GM's in the new NHL. Best of luck to ya, Botterill.

hey! i went to school with that guy...
granted, when you go to Michigan, that’s a lot of people, but Bot I actually ran into on occasion…that’s pretty sweet
That’s pretty cool actually. My only similar experience is in saying that Miles Austin of the Dallas Cowboys graduated with me. Take that any way you’d like…

I was an undergrad at Michigan from 1993 to 1997, and Michigan won the NCAAs in 96 and 98, so there was a ton of talent on campus, including guys like Brendan Morrison, John Madden and Mike Knuble, and Turco, too…
In retrospect, it’s too bad I started hanging out with folks who hung out with hockey types only in the last couple of months as an undergrad…
