I’ve been contemplating getting Center Ice for next season (to eliminate the annoyance of following the Pens via choppy web feeds on a laptop screen). Anyone have any thoughts about Center Ice pro or con?

as far as the points they raise . . .
1. The building seems pretty loud. Just seems like the team didn’t build on the energy at all. Geno’s 1st goal (which did come off a ghastly turnover) just took the life out of them.
2. In the first 5 minutes, yes. After that? Not so much.
3. Don’t think you can really fault him for these goals. The defense in front of him has been useless.
4. Not going there just yet.
5. Definitely will not stop watching if Malkin gets a hat trick.

‘Bulin was pulled last night, and Huet came in. I don’t know if you could blame ’Bulin for all the goals. Anyway, Huet came in and held the fort. Chicago won in overtime. You sometimes need to pull a goalie not because of their performance, but to wake up the team.

This period could have been handled a lot better, especially how crazed the Hurricanes were in the first 5 minutes or more.

Definitely memorable but they have to mention the 5-in-5 record because that’s almost comparable, in a way, to Dimaggio’s hit streak record. Obviously records are made to be broken but those two are in another league all together.

I’d like to think they aren’t the NHL’s version of the Buffalo Bills. in other words, if they return against the same team in the Finals I really hope/think they can turn things in their favor this season. They are one very cohesive unit out there and it’s going to take a lot to shut them all down.

The Wings don’t look as strong this year, but they’re a solidly built team. The Pens are heads and shoulders better than the team that went to the finals last year. If I was an objective fan, I’d say that it will be close series. As a Pens fans, I think we have a better than 50/50 chance of winning it.

Lame penalty. Gonchar wouldn’t have gotten Walker’s neck if he hadn’t crouched down right before Gonchar hit him. That doesn’t surprise me, however. Carolina have a history of making themselves vulnerable to devastating hits. I’m almost starting the think it’s a contractual requirement.

Carolina can’t really handle the Pens cycling the puck down low. If we can really work on getting that pressure I think the end will take care of itself.

Good point. Eat a few minutes off the clock, pick up a goal with the third line and this one is sealed. But if the defense can’t contain Carolina I fear they may still be able to turn this around
