I’ve been contemplating getting Center Ice for next season (to eliminate the annoyance of following the Pens via choppy web feeds on a laptop screen). Anyone have any thoughts about Center Ice pro or con?

as much as i love the pens going on the powerplay….
i would hate for it to turn around and stab us in the back later on.. pens will have to keep scoring on the powerplay if we have any chance.

as far as the points they raise . . .
1. The building seems pretty loud. Just seems like the team didn’t build on the energy at all. Geno’s 1st goal (which did come off a ghastly turnover) just took the life out of them.
2. In the first 5 minutes, yes. After that? Not so much.
3. Don’t think you can really fault him for these goals. The defense in front of him has been useless.
4. Not going there just yet.
5. Definitely will not stop watching if Malkin gets a hat trick.

Pulling Ward Might Not Be a Bad Idea
‘Bulin was pulled last night, and Huet came in. I don’t know if you could blame ’Bulin for all the goals. Anyway, Huet came in and held the fort. Chicago won in overtime. You sometimes need to pull a goalie not because of their performance, but to wake up the team.
But Huet is a veteran goalie. I believe Carolina has a rookie backup. Not sure that’s a move I’d want to make.
Strictly speaking, the Canes aren’t out of this game. Only pull your goalie when it gets hopeless.

Carolina Gameplan?
I’m really surprised Carolina didn’t change around their gameplan for this game. They can’t win a run-and-gun battle against the Pens. There’s way too much open ice. Maurice’s coaching is really questionable at this point.

This period could have been handled a lot better, especially how crazed the Hurricanes were in the first 5 minutes or more.
Hopefully the Canes stay off the board before this period ends, don’t need a fired up team and crowd to start the third.
