A look at Bylsma
I wrote an article about Dan Bylsma for the official Wings' website after I talked to his former high school coaches. As much as I hate to admit it, it's hard to not like this guy even if he coaches the enemy team.
While his former coaches never predicted that Bylsma would become an NHL coach because of his desire back then to play in the NHL, none of them are surprised that he is one today.
“He was a coach’s dream on the field. He was always very positive, always under control, just a great student in school and he did very well on his subjects,” Goorman said. “He was kind of a coach on the field. Just in terms of encouraging, he would build up all the other kids. He had a demeanor about him that just commanded respect.”

Good write up.
Everything I’ve heard of about Dan Bylsma has been hugely positive. While I did like Michel Therrien for doing as great of a job as he did last year, you could tell the switch to Bylsma didn’t cause a panic attack on the ice, and, as more and more wins piled up, the confidence and comfort level had to have grown into what we have now.
Hope he’s here to stay in Pittsburgh for many more successful years.

Awesome work Christy. Sorry I didn’t get around to reading this sooner. I’m not overly surprised to see other fan bases appreciating his work but it’s nice to know that it exists outside of Pittsburgh as well. Thanks for that.
