PITTSBURGH (AP)—The Washington Capitals notified Pittsburgh-area police after a death threat made against Capitals star Alex Ovechkin surfaced on a hockey message board.
The message board poster bragged he was going to kill Ovechkin and didn’t care if he went to jail.
"We became aware of an inappropriate comment on a message board and referred it to the appropriate authorities," according to a statement issued Thursday by the Capitals. "We appreciate their diligence and have every confidence in our club’s safety."
The Pennsylvania state police computer crime task force is investigating the threat, which was first reported by Pittsburgh TV station WPXI.
Come on Pittsburgh, how can any hockey fan take your blogs seriously when you have crap like this going around...
We, who are the Flyers Faithful, know how empty this threat is... do i detect drops of sweat in anxious fright when OV has the puck...
All I know is we had OV's number, The Flyers beat the Caps rather well all year, maybe we should have moved instead of you guys... oh well, wasnt in the cards.
i dont want to hear another negative opinion (for a while) about the good fans of Philadelphia with this BS going around... because we'll blow it off as a lame threat from a teenager.
i laugh in your general direction. (especially if you say anything about other fans having no class)
