I am not a fan of Economic Ease or distraction from a Championship….Last time I checked the Cup doesn’t pay my bills.

There’s no reason to believe that the Pens are going to win this game. They’re playing in a tough building they never have luck in. Fleury hasn’t been good on the road. Crosby only has 3 points this series, and can’t seem to shake Zetterberg. Detroit will have all their matchups. The Wings have an all-world lineup that is stacked with superstars that have won cup after cup. Osgood has been great, and should be the Conn Smythe winner.
But for all the reasons above, that’s why the Pens are going to win. Because game 7’s are weird and strange. It’s 60 minutes of hockey.

There have been 5 Game 7s in the last 8 seasons. So there has been plenty of drama in each. I still think 1994’s Cup game had the most drama given the Rangers won their first Cup in 54 years and what it took to win it that year.

One similarity between tonight and June 14, 1994 is the battle of goalies. Kirk McLean and Mike Richter were really dueling it out as Ozzie and Fleury are here. But the difference already has been that the Rangers scored two first period goals that night while it is scoreless here.

story time
ok, so everyone knows im an absolute pens nutter. i told everyone at the start of shift “its game 7 unless some one dies leave my ass alone.”
so at the 10 minute mark of the period i get a call saying hey we broke a mirror on x plane, that flys next week. so i go down there ask everyone whats going on and go to look at the mirror, which is now gone. i come out of the airplane and everyone is laughing at me because i sprinted down to the bird, ran inside the bird, and kept saying “wtf its god damned game 7!?”
