I am from New Jersey, but my daughter and three year old grandson live in Pittsburgh. My grandson actually got me to be a Pens fan. He began to watch hockey with his aunt last year and then got his mother (my daughter) hooked. She surprised me in January and took me to a Devils/Penguins game at the "Rock." Sorry the Pens lost, but I started to watch more games played by any team that was televised on MSG or Versus. I was very disappointed that the Devils lost, but hung on to hockey and watched and rooted for the Penguins. Honestly, I never believed that they would win the Stanley Cup, but it was great especially after the Steelers won the Super Bowl. (My husband has always been a Steelers fan even before my daughter moved to Pittsburgh)
I was at the last home game of the Penguins when they played the Islanders and I was amazed how devoted the Penguins fans were. In New Jersey no one really cares about hockey (even the Devils) I have a hard time "talking hockey" with anyone here. So I text my daughter and play hockey with my grandson when we visit together. So thanks, Max, for helping me be a Penguins fan. I still will cheer for the Devils as I live in NJ, but I will wear my "Penguins" tee shirt in New Jersey and talk about hockey with anyone who will listen!
