• Our line of the day? We e-mailed Penguins GM Ray Shero and asked him if anything was up with his team. His response: “Yeah, we won the Cup.”
Nice.
Guess the only news so far today is about next season’s salary cap. Nudging upward $100,000 from this season.
P is for Latrobe.
Thats good to hear.

Hey all. Just showed up. Saw our former bad boy Georges Laraque outside by some sort of makeshift rink. Don’t know what it’s for exactly. Getting situated in here now and will have a pic up from inside the arena in a bit.

haha not entirely sure. I got close enough so maybe you can see in the pic

it has some sort of weird surface, like imitation ice. It’s really small but I guess it will serve some purpose

is it a “green” ice. maybe we can ship it to replace the melting ice caps and save the polar bears. Patent Pending if Al Gore is reading this.
It’s some sort of slick surface. Alls I know is Georges was shuffling around like he was on air

“We’re not looking to trade anybody,” Shero said, adding that he is not interested in making a trade simply to free salary-cap space.

Either this is deliberate deceptiveness, or the Pens really want to keep a hold of Dupuis…
Not sure which one I prefer, cause I’ve always thought of Pascal as a wicked fast winger with some toughness we need.
Move TK up to L1 or L2 and have Dupuis with Cooke and Staal on the 3rd…I think it would work excellently.

Dupuis has all offseason to find his hands. Hopefully he does

but Kennedy was the one that gave that line some consistent offensive punch. I don’t doubt that Kennedy would do well on the top 2 lines, but I like the third line as it is.
I loved that third line all throughout the playoffs. I’d really love it if they didn’t touch it

No prob man. My pleasure. A lot of Pens fans were standing on line outside but Islanders fans are easily the most represented here.

this is just sad
Who is John Tavares? >href=“http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPollResultsState?pollId=73640”
i don’t want to sound mean but its not like they were asking where Iran was and people didn’t know. all depends who you ask that question
Lifes rough, wear a helment
True, but I also think it’s a pretty clear indication of how poor hockey coverage is in the US
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
maybe the us networks should emulate CBC and TSN when it covers the sport. all i’ve been hearing all week is who is going first round in the NHL entry draft. And it is the spot that Canadians pay more attention too. the US has a pile of choices… NFL, NCAA, MLB, NBA. Sure canadians watch these as well but hockey comes first…
Lifes rough, wear a helment
this would have been a great draft to get the coverage, especially with the NBA draft last night being the worst talent-wise in my memory.
1 of 5 people knowing who John Tavares is, is just sad. At least google it first!
That’s what I was thinking. And apparently there is a lot of talk already about how weak next year’s is going to be
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
I didn’t have a chance to catch any of the NBA Draft. As a Nuggets fan I guess it didn’t matter much. If I remember correctly they didn’t have a first rounder anyway
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
Just ran into Rob Rossi downstairs. He didn’t seem like he was in the mood to talk. Awkward.

Pardon my ignorance
I usually dont pay much attention the draft as much as I love hockey, but when do we pick?
Okay, just so I understand it... in your wildest fantasy, you are in hell. And you are co-running a bed and breakfast with the devil.
My good sir. I do believe we pick last. I’ll take a Cup win and last pick over a first rounder any day.

Chris Pronger may be going to the Flyers. Darren Dreger tweeted that he was told it’s a go and is awaiting confirmation.

From VS. coverage, it’s almost as exciting to hear who’s moving players than it is who is being drafted.
PensBurgh penalty - Lavender - 2 Minutes for Excessive Stanley Cup Raising.
It’s pretty intense. Travis from Broad Street isn’t happy with the Flyers’ trade at all. Dubbed it a “win now” move which pretty much hits it right on the head.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
Indeed. I don’t even comprehend the salary hit, which is all Verses talked about on the trade.
PensBurgh penalty - Lavender - 2 Minutes for Excessive Stanley Cup Raising.
It’s an odd move. I mean, Philly had to do SOMETHING to open up space. I just don’t know if this is exactly what they (or others) had in mind.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
Well, rumor is that Briere has to go now, for sheer cap space.
I know Pronger is a great player, but a team needs depth. I’m still speckledorfed that the Flyers gave up all that they did. That’s a ton of future draft picks plus the added players in the trade.
PensBurgh penalty - Lavender - 2 Minutes for Excessive Stanley Cup Raising.
But who wants to take Briere? Too much $ and last season proved he’s too injury prone to even consider. Looks like Philly may be stuck with him much like the Islanders are with Dipietro.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
I’ve never had an issue with that one. Now the Gordon’s Fisherman one…ugh
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
The isles are just animals in this draft. Unreal/

Seriously. Got to give them credit though, they want to rebuild quick.
