I can't take it

I have the sound off because I can’t take it, but I can’t help looking up every few minutes.. every time I look up Detroit has another power play. One penalty on Detroit, six penalties on Pittsburgh.

Hockey night in Bettman

As a major Canadian hockey fan…and continually listening to how Gary Bettman wants to grow the game in American……having an opportunity to expand the game and have the game blown by terrible refereeing and have any casual viewer turn the game off midway through the 2nd period is a disgrace!!! Gary has to go!!!

Detroit is playing well…but I really don’t understand what happened to the Pens tonight. They came out so strong, missed a couple of scoring chances, failed on a power play, gave up a soft goal and we’re like, “Alright, that was fun,”

by Malsby on Jun 6, 2009 9:59 PM EDT reply actions

i knew that it was a bad sign that we came out incredibly strong

by shleeve on Jun 6, 2009 10:01 PM EDT up reply actions

It was the PP’s. Detroit started getting them, and once they plunked it in the net over and over again, there was nothing else left to do. The Pens lost composure. It’ll be a great lesson for game 7.

This is kinda like a novel- adversity (lose the first 2 games against Det), the comeback (win the next 2), a little more adversity to prolong the experience (tough game 5 loss), and a happy ending – win game 6 and 7. The pens were not going to win 4 straight against the wings, kinda like the wings were not going to win 4 straight against the pens. Now the pens just gotta win at home, where they have been fantastic, and advance to a game 7 where ANYTHING is possible. Have faith in your team- they will take home the cup this year.

Is this "flag" hockey?

Borkie said that the refs are picked because of their outstanding jobs during the season.
These are the same ones who called games 1 and 3. They must be really good! Wonder how many Wings games they did?
It used to be announced which officials would ref a game, but Gah-wwee thought that the grief they were getting from fans was uncalled for so he made sure the names aren’t released in advanced.
Nevertheless, these refs should be remembered for the next regular season. The fans can do a job on the refs as well as the visiting team.
One blown game can be excused…two is a little much.
