The Penguins are going to the White House to meet the President on September 9

Anyone on here from VA/DC/MD looking at seeing them like people did when the steelers came down?

Man, I was just in DC about two weeks ago. I suppose if I knew this in advance I would’ve tried to schedule my trip accordingly.

White House security seems like it’ll be tough no matter the occasion, but that would be sweet if you could stand near bus when they unloaded.

Also I think that report came from a Malkin interview in which he named an incorrect date for Sidney Crosby’s relatively famous 8/7 birthday….So I’m not sure if I trust Geno on all the details here for the exact day the Pens come to meet Obama.

If it was going to be wednesday, I would be there….since they moved it to thursday, Im not going to be able to make it down to it. I’m sure they will video of the pens skating at Ft.Dupont and only one Picture of the Pens from the White House like we see every year.

Investigating for a friend-

Hi

I’m down in DC and have a question on behalf of a die hard Penguin fan. He is out of town so I told him I would investigate. Can the general public go to this? From all I’ve been able to figure out – it seems only media can attend whatever is going on at the lawn. Do you think there is any point for my friend to go out there and watch from the gates or anything? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Dunno if he can get onto the lawn or anything but he might be able to watch a clinic at a rink in the area that the Pens are hosting earlier in the day.
