No doubt. Gotta give him the nod. Most goals in Leafs history. A long career but with no Cup to show for it. A shame, but shouldn’t be any indication of what he was capable of as a player.

couldnt agree more
you can not judge a skater’s eligibility to the HoF by cups. Goalies maybe, but not skaters. thats like keeping a troy tuiliwitscki out of the hall (if he continues to be fantastic) because he doesnt have a ring, or say keeping brain urlacher out of the hall because the bears dont know what a good qb is.
goalies are the foundation of a team and if they arent playing superbly game in and game out then you dont get a cup. does that mean maf is a HoF’r no certianly not yet. but if he continues ot be great your damn right he has the ring. does that mean luongo is not a HoF’r? boarder line. hes been fantastic in the reg season but never really won anything.

Good question…I would vote Sundin in for the Hall and I have strict standards. My measure is were they a dominant player in their era (usually means have to have the stats to back it up) and did they maintain that high level of play for many years.
I’d answer yes to both questions for Sundin, he’s been one of the best and most consistent centermen of ths 1990’s and 2000’s.
