Dan Bylsma to make a pre-game announcement UPDATE: Yeo to miss game

Stay connected for news and updates

UPDATE:  As commenter Pensfan8725 first reported here from the Penguins website, assistant coach Mike Yeo will not be behind the bench today.   Bylsma said Yeo wasn't feeling well yesterday and got checked out by medical personnel.  All of Yeo's tests came back "normal" but it seems he'll stay over-night in a Florida hospital before returning to Pittsburgh tomorrow....Pens fans may be frustrated with his work, but we all certainly wish him the best of health and hope he is feeling better quickly.

Following yesterday's game in Tampa, paramedics were called to the Penguins coaching room.  Head coach Dan Bylsma was pretty quiet about not giving much in the way of details:

Asked if someone was having a medical issue, Bylsma pointed toward the locker room and said, "No, the ones in trouble are in there."

Pressed further on whether there was a problem, he shook his head and said, "No."

Who knows if that is related to what Seth from Empty Netters recently said on Twitter:

Per PG+, Bylsma's making an announcement prior to today's game. No word on what.

Also an interesting note is who is omitted from the initial article:

Among those who were seen going about their business as normal after the game were Bylsma, assistant coach Tony Granato, general manager Ray Shero, conditioning coach Mike Kadar, video coach Jim Britt, head trainer Chris Stewart, head equipment manager Dana Heinze and senior director of team operations Frank Buonomo.

Not listed?  Power-play running assistant coach Mike Yeo.  Is he still with the team?  We'll update this when Bylsma makes his announcement in the coming hours before the 5:00 game.
