Sergei Gonchar and Mike Yeo to miss tonight's game v. Atlanta too

Stay connected for news and updates

In addition to the news that Chris Kunitz will require surgery and miss 4-6 weeks (see below), we learn that the Pens will be without Sergei Gonchar and Mike Yeo too when they square off with the Atlanta Thrashers tonight.

Missing a first line forward, first pairing defense and assistant coach, what's that the "Red Cross Hat-trick" or something?

Yeo, unfortunately, remains in a Florida hospital, where he's been since Sunday.  It was anticipated that he would have been released early yesterday if his tests and observation period went well.  We won't speculate here on anything baseless but will continue to wish Yeo a speedy recovery.

It'll be the third straight game missed for Gonchar, who's reportedly walking without a limp.  That may not be a clear sign, but it's gotta be better than if he was visibly hurting, right?

Also, backup goalie Brent Johnson, who's been very solid his past few times out, will get the nod as the starting goalie.
