Battle of Pennsylvania! Let’s go Pens!

by AlexStitch on Jan 7, 2010 7:32 PM EST reply actions

I don’t know why, but for some reason I’m not psyched up for this game like I usually am. So…the Pens and the people here need to fix that. :)

Rest assured I have nights like that too. Tonight I can’t say I’m fired up either, but I have a good feeling I’ll be ready to go a few minutes in

You said to try and get you pumped.

Sorry, I come from a football family is negative reinforcement is the norm. I wasn’t serious.

Haha, yeah, I assumed as much. It’s cool. :D

I get pumped for these games because every time I tell people out here (in LA) I’m from PA, they always ask Philly first. Hell no!

LET’S GO PENS! WHOOOOOOOO! PENGUINS RULE!

So that’s why I’m blacked out on game center… bastards. I understand why Versus and NBC make them preserve their TV rights, but I’m already sending money to the NHL.

Oh well, fortunately there is a lot of interest in this game on… other channels.

I think it says something though that even though he’s only played what, 2-3 games so far this season Slovakia still decided to pick him up for the Olympics. I just think he’s underrated, but I agree with Frank, wasn’t the most physical guy. But then again, the Pens don’t really have a sniper anymore do they?

When the opposing team scores five goals on your goaltender, that’s pretty much a forgone conclusion. Remember when Philidelphia sucked? I enjoyed that.

I guess Fluery needs that midseason injury break to give him some rest in the middle of the year

by Hansmoleman on Jan 7, 2010 8:42 PM EST reply actions

I was thinking, Johnson was in net when we finally won on Tuesday. So, Fleury still hasn’t won for several games. I’m sure that the two early goals had a big effect on his confidence, especially considering the recent streak. I think he needs a big win to get his confidence back — and, he needs more help from the defense.

Not a good night for goaltenders apparently.

by SlayerGhaleon on Jan 7, 2010 8:43 PM EST reply actions

Or our defense, really. I am honestly stunned how horrible the defense has been after being so stellar earlier in the year.

What happened to the season? They beat the Senators 8-2 and then that’s it. They haven’t played well since Xmas. I really think Fleury needs to sit a couple games to get his mental state back in check. To many stupid plays, to much useless passing, not enough shots when people are in front of the net. The Pens are playing like they don’t really care. Maybe they need a playoff miss to find there game again.

Brooks Orpik a +3 in this game? How is that even possible?! It’s not really funny, but somehow I find humor in it…I guess we all need something to laugh about after this game.
Our D is terrible…and wtf happened to Skoula? Errey said he was on the bench at the end of the game, but he only got 4:25 of ice time and was a -2….HCDB must’ve been pissed at him or something.
