I don’t know why, but for some reason I’m not psyched up for this game like I usually am. So…the Pens and the people here need to fix that. :)
Yes, the guy who never missed a game in the seasons before the lockout…
You can call me a lot of things, but that’s not one of them.
Rest assured I have nights like that too. Tonight I can’t say I’m fired up either, but I have a good feeling I’ll be ready to go a few minutes in

It's the Pens' guys, too.

Didn’t you get the memo? Crosby sucks.

Crosby sucks champagne from the Stanley Cup that the Flyers haven’t won in living memory.
Fixed.

Oh, hey. It’s called a joke.
And unless all of the Earth’s population is under 40, a lot of people remember the Flyers winning the Cup.

Did Briere tip that? Kinda pretty goal to be honest

I thought Johnson was supposed to start. I’m starting to doubt the decision to start Fluery instead.
When he gets beat like that he really shows his age

haha seriously. Let’s just see each team pull the goaltender and make a real game of it

BOOM.
Now I’m getting excited. A lot of goals coming tonight

Does anyone have the starting lines? I can’t find them.

They flashed them up before the game but I can’t remember em off the top of my head. Besides, they’ve probably already changed three times by now

Great thanks guys. I’m in CA so I listen to the radio broadcasts.

I’m likin the pressure so far. Good shots. Not worrying about the pretty play just putting shots on.

That coulda shoulda been a too many men on the ice call there. Puck hit the Flyers skate as he was going to the bench.

Miroslov Satan netted his first goal tonight with the Bruins. Thought that was funny when I saw that. How come he didn’t come back to the Pens?
No idea. I thought he should have been picked up again. Plus he has the perfect name. But good for him.
A bee in a bird's nest never made no honey, and a bird in a hive sang no song.
I remember back on the old NHL.com they used to give player profiles a number in the URL. So Crosby would be something like Nhl.com/players/182.html
Satan’s was 666. It was great
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
I think it says something though that even though he’s only played what, 2-3 games so far this season Slovakia still decided to pick him up for the Olympics. I just think he’s underrated, but I agree with Frank, wasn’t the most physical guy. But then again, the Pens don’t really have a sniper anymore do they?
A bee in a bird's nest never made no honey, and a bird in a hive sang no song.
He is a sniper and that was why I was kind of surprised we let him go. Could come in handy when guys like Kunitz and Guerin are struggling a bit.

eh, there was really no place for a guy like Satan in the Bylsma’s system. He didn’t have much of a physical game and that’s kinda the edge DB wants every guy to have

It's just for y'all, since you like him so much.

I think he’s up for this game, not only because it’s against the flyers, but because he had an atrocious, horrible (insert any other synonym here) game on tuesday.

Come on Godard. Every time he’s on the ice lately he’s taking a stupid penalty
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
There are not words that Frank will let me say here that allow me to express what I think of Godard.
The only reason he’s playing tonight is because they’re playing Philly. He really is just a goon, nothing else.
A bee in a bird's nest never made no honey, and a bird in a hive sang no song.
So the ref elects not to call a penalty on too many men, and the Flyers score directly thereafter. Fucking bullshit.
Sorry, Frank.
eh, it’s all good. I’m open to it more this year than last. As long as we all avoid certain words I say we’re good

Ol Two-Niner:
“Marc Andre Fleury should have had that one.”
He should have a lot of the ones he gives up.
A bee in a bird's nest never made no honey, and a bird in a hive sang no song.
Seriously
He always gives up the weaker shots, and then makes saves that you wouldn’t think he would be able to make. Super puzzling.

This is the point where our good friend GhostWalker40 would be spot on with his anti-Fleury sentiment. He’s not looking good at all tonight.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
Funny how he never shows up when Fleury has a legitimately bad game, but when it’s not his fault, he’s all over.

That answer didn't take long.
Simulated Gameday Experience - just like the real thing, only we have smoke machines.
Woo. This is the kind of game we’re gonna have tonight. A five-goal first and it’s still not enough
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
You know what that means don't you?
After a back and forth period like that, we won’t see another goal (hope that’s not the case though).
871
Great play by Orpik there. Had he not poked that away I would say it’s same to assume Fleury would have let that one in.

This still isn’t good- we’re still playing catch up. we need to make a real stand.
A bee in a bird's nest never made no honey, and a bird in a hive sang no song.
Fleury needs to make a big save, get that into his head and hopefully gain a little confidence in this one. He looks shaky. And I’d like to see the PP get one to tie it up. That’s some good motivation for the 5-on-5 to run with.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
The Flyers PP was 3-for-6 last night. Pens can’t give them chances
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
As much as I hate to admit it, the Flyers PP has been really really solid the last few seasons. The Pens would do well to imitate it.
It was so good before the slump (if we’re even out of it, that’s debatable) that it stayed in the upper half of the rankings even while they were going 0-for game after game. Just starting to rebound now.

it is pretty exciting, good seats, I missed them here in 2007, am super thrilled, just not looking forward to dealing with a bunch of tongue chewing Flames fans
Nice, nice. Dealing with the fans is totally worth it though. I live in MN, and I’m trying to go to the game up at Excel when they play in MN.

I thought Crosby had deflected that shot in, but I think it went straight in….Oh boy, are we in for a long night?
871
I was thinking, Johnson was in net when we finally won on Tuesday. So, Fleury still hasn’t won for several games. I’m sure that the two early goals had a big effect on his confidence, especially considering the recent streak. I think he needs a big win to get his confidence back — and, he needs more help from the defense.

Let me bold that for you.

Or our defense, really. I am honestly stunned how horrible the defense has been after being so stellar earlier in the year.

I think we’ve got to put the two headed monster on the same line….There hasn’t been much of a response by the Pens..

I really do think he knew what he was doing. I don’t think he expected it to go off Leighton as well, but hey, it worked

The Mad Russian is about to go off tonight. I feel it.
Caputi, I think I’m forming a man crush for this kid. I think we’re just seeing the tip of the iceberg.

If we pull this one out of a hat,
it could really turn around our recent struggles, obviously, I know. But, we could really break out of our funk if we come away with two points tonight.
HT for Sid? Maybe?
871
Hmm. Caputi coming up has provided energy on offense these last two games. Wondering if bringing somebody up on defense would help them out.
Might as well try it
Whoever comes up couldn’t be any worse then Skoula could they?

Just a friendly suggestion
Errey: “Do the defense have to get more involved in the third period?”
Granato: “Well they have been…”
Anyone else in Godard’s spot would’ve drained that

But upon seeing the replay it was a good call
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
He gave up a rusty out of the gate goal but he’s really keeping them in the game right now. Still, two goals at this point seems somewhat insurmountable, especially given the PP chances this team has failed to convert on

The Chicken Roaster
[Kramer opens his window revealing a banner saying “BAD CHICKEN”]

Leighton robbed the hatty on Sid. Maybe he can at least get it for a moderate high point in an otherwise low night

yeah but now it’s just a matter of time. they’ve had a lot of good chances but the odds of getting just as many good chances in the little bit of time remaining is the real issue

What happened?
What happened to the season? They beat the Senators 8-2 and then that’s it. They haven’t played well since Xmas. I really think Fleury needs to sit a couple games to get his mental state back in check. To many stupid plays, to much useless passing, not enough shots when people are in front of the net. The Pens are playing like they don’t really care. Maybe they need a playoff miss to find there game again.
Lol
Brooks Orpik a +3 in this game? How is that even possible?! It’s not really funny, but somehow I find humor in it…I guess we all need something to laugh about after this game.
Our D is terrible…and wtf happened to Skoula? Errey said he was on the bench at the end of the game, but he only got 4:25 of ice time and was a -2….HCDB must’ve been pissed at him or something.
871
I think DB benched him. He definitely didn’t look solid out there and at times even flat footed against some of the Flyers forwards who were trying to cut the corners on him.
Follow the Penguins on SBN @ Pensburgh.com and twitter.
Yeah, I thought Skoula looked terrible out there.
