Collins Scores Two in the Third, WBS Pens Win 4-2

Stay connected for news and updates

Chris Collins scored the game winner tonight in the third period and added an insurance goal, an empty netter, to seal the deal for the 19th victory of the season. Collins now has 10 points (5G-5A) in 20 games with the Pens this season.

The Pens jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period including another shorthanded goal by Dustin Jeffrey. If there was anyone on this team who deserves a call up to the big Pens, Jeffrey would be at the top of the list.  Besides being a scoring machine, Jeffrey has been playing well defensively as well, scoring his 12th goal of the season tonight shorthanded.  He now has 28 points in 23 games, inlcuding eight in his last four games.  The Pens are now 19-4-0-0 on the season and play against Michael Leighton, on a conditioning assignment, and the rest of the Phantoms tomorrow night.  I will update the recap later tonight. Go Pens!
